Because giving zero stars was not an option. I arrived late last night to a sketchy hotel that was completely misrepresented by the pictures on the website. I did not feel safe. So I cancelled my reservation and went else where. The late night respectionist told me that he could not refund my stay and to call back the next day and talk with Marina Morey operations manager. This woman had the nerve to get an attitude with me because I told her that her establishment was disgusting. After being told that her attitude was not needed, she told me that I would be charged for one stay, happy thanksgiving and hung up on me. I would not recommend giving this business your money!

Hipish option a little off the beaten track but not far from downtown. Updated motel, nice enough, attracts diverse/friendly crowd, but can be loud due to the central gathering area with fire pit (was the pool area in a previous life). Try to avoid a room in the back only because the parking feels a little sketchy at night. If you get a good rate, definitely worth the price considering other similar -tier options.

LOVED staying at this motel! Price was much lower than others in the area, and the room was so nice. One of the most comfortable beds I have slept in, with soft pillows and big, fluffy blankets. The shower was great. Built-in dispensers were a nice touch. Pretty decor. Great picture and reception on the modern TV. Lots of breakfast options. So glad they renovated this old roadside motel instead of tearing it down. Great job!

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. A cool older Motor Lodge remodeled into a hip and trendy establishment. I'd far rather patronize this locally-owned business then give my money to the Holiday Inn Express across the way.

Staying at The Beaucatcher was wonderful. The rooms were well decorated and super clean. The motel was quiet and the staff curteous. I loved their outdoor lounge area which looked like it was built on the site of an old swimming pool. It was a much better use of space.

It's a renovated motel. The rooms are quiet even though it is beside a busy road. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

It is a quaint, clean renovated motel with comfortable beds and the location was really good!!! Food and fast food, gas and groceries all right there. A nice pergola and fire pit, craft beers for purchase and coffee/teas available. On the down side, it was over priced but the entire area is so it is what it is. Next door is a nice holiday inn for $70 cheaper per night. I am a ihg member, probably going to continue using their services Sorry
I would recommend this hotel to the millennial crowd that looks for something with a little more edge and a little different.response / report this review -

Cost effective for the area. Has potential, but, this place NEEDS a lot of work to be awesome. We arrived to a flooded bathroom. Which got mopped up, no offer for another room or price reduction on room. Bathroom remained damp. Beds were comfy, thats a plus. If you are going to spend a lot of time not in your room and just need an affordable place to crash after wandering asheville or hiking all day, this may a be place worth staying. We also woke up to staff yelling across the courtyard about needing to stock towels and other things. So, don't plan on sleeping in. The biggest perk here is its considerably cheaper than other places to stay in the area. Plan to get what you pay for.

This place is amazing! The price was very good and they have done such a good job remodeling this place. Its like a hidden gem. The staff is very friendly and the rooms were great. Beds were very comfy and the temperature in the room was perfect. Beautiful scenery and courtyard. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Stayed 06/16/17. Had a few roach sightings in our hotel room, witnessed a smelly hippie rob the Ingles across the street while I was eating and assisted the Ingles manager in taking back the stolen items, and the Hotel room air conditioner leaked all over the Floor. The hotel receptionist was not concerned at all when I mentioned the leak, knowing she gave us this room.
Pretty crappy place to stay although the renovations look acceptable on the inside and outside.response / report this review -

Although looking at it from the outside you'd think it was a good place to stay but once you get to the room they are amazing. They staff was great and extremely helpful, I would stay again in a heartbeat.

Great staff, nice enough room, not the best experience overall. At one point, an entire wall of outlets/lighting went out. At least it happened during the day and there was natural lighting in the bathroom. Some of the other hotel guests got drunk and made a lot of noise right outside our door late at night. I was woken many times by loud people (probably different groups). This is why we never stay close to downtown I suppose. In other areas of Asheville, we haven't experienced this. The breakfast was good enough. Yogurt, bananas, cereal, coffee, juice, and frozen breakfast burritos. Beds were comfortable, room was clean, bathroom was small. I would try it again, but maybe not on a Friday or Saturday unless I had no intention of sleeping. I would come armed with a super soaker to remove drunks from outside my door though.

The hotel is a remodel of a standard two story motel surrounding what used to be a pool. The pool has been filled in and turned into a chic outdoor social spot, complete with places to lounge, quaint lighting, and a small propane fire place (though it was not used during my stay). The atmosphere was nice and a continental breakfast is included. Do be warned that the bathrooms are on the small side but the beds are fairly comfortable.
