My wife and I stayed at Linville Falls Lodge & Cottages for three nights this week to celebrate our 8th anniversary. The staff is friendly and the cottages are clean, but the wifi and water pressure are non-existant. Bewareif you’re going to the mountains to relax, this is NOT the property. It’s surrounded by two major roads and there’s a horrendous roar of traffic from semi-trucks, motorcycle and cars from 5am to midnight. Also, on our first night the smoke detector battery died and the alarm began “chirping” at 3:30am. At 9am we got a new battery from the maid service. I asked the owner if he would discount our first evening ($180 per day) due to the inconvenience and he treated me like a criminal. He was very rude and blamed me for not getting out of bed, walking across the property in 40 degree weather and knocking on his door at 3:30am for a new battery. I said, why don’t you just change the batteries and help your customer avoid these situations…? He said he would not discount one evening. I say .Thanks for the customer service…!! There are better places to stay in the mountains with far less problems and traffic. We will not be returning.

Stayed one night in the middle of June in room one. Room was small but nice and clean. Bathroom was recently redone but sleeping room was old style dark paneling.

Room had no fridge or microwave and Wi-Fi was really slooow. Room had flat panel TV and small coffee maker. Site is a little rural but there are two restaurants in the vicinity. Check if they'll be open. It was pleasant to sit on the deck enjoying the cool air.

Price was reasonable and we'd be pleased to stay there again.

The lodges and cabins themselves are extremely beautiful, it's quiet and safe and my toddler loved getting to run the grounds and play! The only complaint I do have is that when we got back to the lodge our first night there, our cable had gone out; my mom had called down to the office and told them that we had a toddler who was exhausted and in need of cartoons and asked if the company could be called and the system rebooted so we could get him to bed (the wifi wasn't great and I had absolutely no signal so NetFlix on the backups was a nope). My mom was offered her money back so we could go and find another place. Mind you, we had a tired 2 yr and it was during the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games so finding an open room without having to drive all over God's green Earth would have been difficult. Not the best thing to tell a guest at around 10:30 at night, especially since we'd been told by other guests that they had an issue the day before with the cable guys having to come out.

Linville Falls Lodge is a great weekend get away. The cottage we stayed in was excellent! The décor is welcoming, it is very clean, quiet and stocked with everything we needed. Wendy, the General Manager is doing a great job. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

This is a no-frills location. Lovely wood panel walls, fancy upgraded bathroom. TV but no DVD/Bluray player. Wifi was free but basically nonexistent. Comfy, comfy bed. Oranges, apples, mini bagels with butter, two flavors of yogurt, and some scary hard boiled eggs for the continental breakfast. The hot water took quite a while to kick in for the first shower, and we had to go down to the office to ask them to turn ON the hot water the second day. Convenient parking right outside your door and a fantastic restaurant just up the block. I give it a solid average rating and wouldn't be afraid to stay again just know you're getting what you pay for!

We have been going to the lodge for the past eleven years. They are gay friendly and lodge manager Wendy has always taken great care of us. It's very relaxing and enjoyable

Absolutely delightful experience. Every detail from the room to the landscaping to the restaurant has been considered. Wendy is awesome and will do everything to get you settled in and find your way around the area.

Lots to do in the area. Very centrally located.

    You won't be disappointed.
