My fiancee took me hear this June for my birthday. It's an older place. But great food and priced fairly. Located across from a small Marina and a Yacht Club. Enchanting view.

Good food and service. We set outside, enjoyed pleasant weather, view of the bay, and live music was a nice plus. Definitely will be coming back.

    Horrible time!

Went here on Sunday to celebrate my dad's birthday as this is a place he usually really enjoys.

We we're sat and the table wasn't fully set. Someone came over and just threw silverware on the table, instead of trying to set them with each guest. The place wasn't very busy and we had a 6:30 reservation. Once our waiter came over he apologized for the wait which we didn't mind. A few of us ordered drinks and he walked away before getting everyone's orders. When he brought the few drinks we we're then asked to order. We ordered a few soups and 2 appetizers. The sangria was very bland tasted mostly of juice. The soups we're also bland.
Anytime one thing was ordered the waiter would walk away, ignoring anyone else. We ordered dinner a few seafood dishes and a few got steaks. No one was really satisfied. One steak was very poorly cooked to the point of not even wanting to eat. The waiter did want to fix the issue but by that point the person was just not interested.

The biggest problem was that when we left as soon as we got into the parking lot across the street my mom proceeded to get violently sick. In a matter of a few minutes she had been sick 3 times. We immediately knew it was due to the food, she had fried shrimp.

We tried to call and speak to a manager to tell them about the problem and were told the manager had already left for the night. We find this hard to believe as it was about 8 when we left. It seems as though they just didn't want to deal with any problems. Needless to say sadly this establishment has definitely lost people who were repeat customers.

Loyal customer since 2003. I wish I had a restaurant like this closer to my house!
Very solid, waterfront choice for Raritan Bay.

Get any of their broiled, or fried seafood combo platers, and you would not be disappointed.
I also like: chicken parm, Greek chicken platter, their Manhattan claims chowder, and absolutely must: "clams casino"!

if you ever go there never have a busboy named Tom Z because he absolutely the worst employee that this place has and he is very disrespectful to people.. but the steak is AMAZING

We were seated and served fast, the meal I had was just like I like it. I would go there again, especially in the summer so I can walk on the pier. Beautiful. Thank you.

Was not impressed at all. Read the reviews and they were quite impressive . I was set up for disapointmentFirst bread Butter breads sticks along with packages of broken crackers were thrown on the table.Time to order our lunch ------my lady had a combo platter with a salad. potatoes that were served burnt and tasted as if they been sitting around for a while. I ordered a flounder platter which was served with a salad and fries. This was ok but not the best I had. We both ordered a diet soda which had a foul taste to it and more then likely was a off brand soda. The soda was $3.00. Each with no refills. The waitress that waited on us was useless and never came back to table to see if we needed anything until we were almost finished eating. She did not mention as we were ordering refills of soda that each small glass would be $3.00. The Barge is a extremely poor choice of a place to spend your hard earned money and time. There are much better choices in the local area to enjoy FRESH seafood and a great deal less expensive.
Conveniently when we asked to speak to the owner/manager he s nowhere to be found,,,,, I gave The Barge Restaurant a one star as there was no lower allowed.

Ehh. The view is probably the best thing about this place. The food is bland, the tables are too much for more than one person. I ordered the Steak with Shrimp Scampi and my mother order a Broiled Lobster. The steak had no seasoning and the shrimp was not the actual scampi sauce. It was like some kind of bread on top of the shrimp. I had one shrimp and it was not good. With some steak sauce, the Steak was eatable. . . My mother said her lobster could have been better. I guess they do give you a lot of food but definitely not a place I would waste my money on again. I think the view is also what you're paying for.
