Very authentic traditional English food including desserts. The venue shows it's age but this helps set the atmosphere as an old English pub.
As a bonus, the "pub" had hand pulled, kegged, Ruddles County. For an American, this means that the beer is shipped and stored in a wooden cask, without pressurisation, and is served at cellar temperature without any chilling.
Note - cask beer is only available in the colder months as it is a living brew.

Outside of the UK, it has the best fish n chips and Shepherd's pie. Love it. Cozy, comfortable, friendly, and awesome food and prices.

Excellent food, i had the classic cod and chips and it was amazing. We also ordered the fried mac n cheese and a side of curry sauce. Every single item was delicious and would definitely come back to try new items. The only problem was the wine. I had a red wine and yes I know its an English eatery, but it tasted a little cheap.

The staff here is great and friendly. Aesthetically the place is great and the crowd is hip and sports loving. Some entrees here are must haves like the steak and liver pie.

The fish and chips here were fantastic and I've tried enough over the years. However, serving chilling Old Speckled Hen (an ale) disappointed me greatly. I eventually order my beer and left it to stand for half an hour to allow it to warm up. Perhaps it's the American way, but sometimes beer is mean to be served at room temperature, not cold!

Atlantic Chip Shop is right down the block and has always been a great place to grab some good food or have a drink at the bar. Service has always been good and the staff is very friendly. What I like best about this place is that it's always good. We have never had a bad or "ok" meal. It has always been consistently good food. I suggest that if you don't have the fish & chips (which is great) then try one of the Mac & Cheese or Shepherd's Pie dishes. They are amazing.

I've passed by this place many times, and finally stopped in one day. I was surprised at how great it was. It definitely has a British pub feel, and frequently you'll find the TVs tuned to a soccer match. They have a ton of beers on tap, and they seem to be kept very fresh. Food is good and reasonably priced. Service has been pretty good as well. They have a great happy hour during the week, from I think 12-7 where if you are sitting at the bar, you get 20% off your total bill. I would say this is for sure one of the better places n the neighborhood to grab a beer, and it is one of the few bars open for lunch during the week.

One of my absolute favorite bars, plus restaurant and pub grub in the city. Generous happy hour. Excellent decor. Sit under the Siouxsie poster and drink your cares away. Or the damned poster and revel in your fallen state (with Shepard's pie). The other location is a pale shadow of this one, but not bad. Just not pukka.

Now this is proper fish and chips. No need to travel into the city. Great atmosphere staff always friendly. Can't beat the prices and food never disappoints. Good English breakfasts too.

Cozy spot. Friendly competent staff. Short wait for food. Good food. Good selection for a "chip shop". Decent beer. Loads of soccer to watch. Not too expensive, fair prices. Worth a visit if in the area just to check out the "Del Boy" 3 wheeler van parked outside. I think they deliver in this jalopy!
    Class!!
