Great service and good food. Definitely recommend the wood fired pizzas. If you are in the area during the week, they have excellent happy hours (my favorite is Wednesdays, 1/2 priced bottles of wine, pizza and apps). Seating can be tricky because HH deals are only good in the bar area. I thought the menu items (pastas and entrees) were somewhat overpriced for what they are, but still very good!
My wife and I have been here twice now. The food is great l, but pricey. The service was really good, as well. It’s expensive, but outstanding quality Italian food. One major problem is that it is extremely loud. It’s not the best place for a romantic dinner.
Love this place! Actually authentic italian food (I’m European, Olive Garden, does not count :D) and everything i’ve tasted from their menu is delicious! Typically great service, even though the weekend is usually busier which affects the service slightly.
The food was very unsatisfactory quality-wise something I wouldn't expect from a restaurant like Taverna. Service was unsatisfactory as well. Bad experience overall. Will not be coming back.
Very disappointed the olive oil was rancid and sent back and told manager and he argued with us disagreeing that it was not. I know it had a very bad taste and was not fresh. Manager left and never came back and the service was not so great after we spoke to manager. Never got new olive oil or bread again. All employees had bad attitude.
I work downtown Fort Worth and there are not many Italian places to choose from. I was craving pizza and thought I would give them a try. It's A little pricy since they do not offer any lunch specials but I was satisfied. Good pizza, fresh salad and a very friendly nice atmosphere.
We just had dinner here. We have been going here at least a decade. It has always be consistently wonderful. Today we came in and the place had yet to be crowded with dinner crowd. We were seated and served. We orders drinks and dinner. My salad arrived and I started to eat it. I found a fly in it. I called the waitress over and let her know. I said I don't want another salad as that kind of ruined for me but wanted to have rest of my dinner. Summer in Texas, it happens. But, what most surprised me was no apology from upper management. I was not looking for a comp but I had expected at least a visit to the table. We had ordered an appetizer too. Next thing our entree was delivered but she had forgot the appetizer. This is not the Taverna's I have known. I started to eat but at this point the dinner experience was shot. When she asked me for a to go box I told her I was disappointed that nobody had approached table and that she had forgotten the appetizer. She said do you want me to approach the manager again? I said so he knows and did not come to apologize. We proceed to get out check and she did go again to him. He finally approached and said he was sorry but he had gone to the chef and the chef said there was no fly when it left the kitchen. He offered to comp us a dessert. I had hardly touched my meal and did not want dessert. I explained I wanted no comp but had at the very least expected to have been approached to apologize. I expected at very least after finding a fly and not being upset our waitress would have made sure the rest of the meal was perfect. But what we had was leadership making excuses that there was no fly when it left the kitchen. I am sorry to say we will not go back. I am really disappointed. The fly I could have lived with but the lack of care and attention to customer i cannot.
At dinner, service was welcoming. Food was served quick and piping hot. Atmosphere is more for a group celebration, family-friendly.
Fine food. Fast and friendly service. Child friendly. Will definitely eat here again.
The food was alright, it came out extremely fast which made me very suspicious. The paper on the tables is a little strange. I get why they do it but its a tad tacky. Everyone around me was drunk and not being subtle about it. On the bright side the food had a fresh taste to it and the service was just fine.
Our waitress was awesome! Other than that the food was okay at best and considering how much it cost we would have gone elsewhere.
Highly recommended. Love their atmosphere and food. Have a great Happy Hour, $3 wells and wines and half off pizzas and appetizers. It's relaxing and really enjoyed it, not to mentioned is downtown on great location.
I went with some friends to Taverna a couple of Monday's ago. Someone in our party ordered a pizza that took more than 25 minutes. The rest of the food was ready and visible but had to eventually get remade because of the delay on the pizza. The smallish white haired manager with glasses would not come to the table even though he was walking around and our waitress talked to him and gestured toward us. At some point the balding chef in the kitchen started throwing dishes and caused a huge commotion slamming doors and throwing his hands up. At no point did the manager ever come check on us or apologize. Our waitress was very apologetic and did her best to accommodate us. We have been here many times, but have no interest in returning if that is how management behaves toward his staff and guests.
Great place for drinks during happy hour, the pizza was fantastic. Bar manager is friendly and personable. Service was great. Definitely will be returning.
I recommend reservation for weekend evening meals. We arrived without them and they did a good job of accommodating us despite the crowd. We ended up opting for eating at the bar and had a pleasant time talking to be bartender once the rush had died down. They have many handcrafted, unique drink options. Pasta is homemade and the cream truffle sauce is excellent. We chose the Nutella cheesecake with sour cherry sauce and we're wowed. The flavor balance was excellent and the Nutella wasn't over powering.
