I have been going to this place for many years, they recently closed & reopened as the original owners decided to sell. We decided to revisit as a family 4/15/23 and unfortunately I have to say it’s NOT at all the same.
Food was NOT good and service was all over the place.
They even have items on the menu that they don’t even have (Beer) when we order they told us it was BYOB to walk down the liquor store if we wanted to.
We used to visit this restaurant very often with family, friends & co-workers, unfortunately we won’t anymore they lost our business.
I've been coming to Taqueria La Oaxaquena for almost a decade and the food is always delicious! Their Sopa Azteca is an all time favorite of mine, I crave it all the time. Tasty, fresh guac and amazing chicken mole as well.
Horrible. Worst experience I’ve had in a restaurant in 24 years. We went in, sat down. The restaurant was dead! Completely EMPTY. The waitress sees us sit in a four seat table and she walks up to us and says, “it’s only you two?” We say, “yes? Why? Would you like us to move to a smaller table?” She shrugged, rolled her eyes and left the menus. She proceeded to talk to the cook for 7 mins while we waited. We then ask is she can take our order, as she was chatting it up with the cook 10ft away from us, she completely ignored us. The cook also ignored us. So we decided maybe we should just go somewhere else to eat. They continued gossiping not caring about losing customers. Horrible! No wonder they didn’t have anyone eating there. There’s plenty of reviews complaining about bad service, trust me, they’re not over exaggerating. The people defending this restaurant are clearly friends and family of the owners because the reviews speak for themselves. I should’ve listened to friends and family that said this place isn’t any good anymore. 0 out of 5 stars easily. Avoid this place. You’d find better service at a self serve buffet than this place
They've recently reopened, and we're the big winners. The Torta Huatulco is perfect comfort food. I've just finished eating it and I'm already plotting my return. Give this place a try!
