They grind meat at the location. The burgers tasted amazing, had a steak like taste and was well seasoned. I got the grilled onions on top of my burger with side of Pepsi. I enjoyed it a lot and would definitely recommend it.

The service was good and our waitress was very nice.

So unexpected but well deserved of its reputation. The Brakeman simply gets it right: quality ingredients, great fries and pleasant service. Yes the wait times can be long, but they are upfront about the limits of the tiny kitchen.

The Shortline pastrami burger was superb, and a new twist for me!

Walked in at 6:45 on a Friday, sat right down, had a beer and a burger. DELICIOUS. Super excited to find a great little place off the beaten (to death) path. Will certainly be back (even if I have to drive the 34 hours to get here), it's that good. Good local beer selection.

Second year in a row we came to eat there but it was closed. Last year they were closed due to "cleaning". This year we called on a Saturday and explained that we missed out the previous year and wanted to make sure there weren't any closing coming up. We planned to eat there on our last night (Wednesday) of vacation. We pulled up to the restaurant to find out they were closed again Knotty pine is a great place to eat!

This is the greatest burger you will ever have! My favorite is the barnyard special. You may think the price is slightly high but just wait until your plate comes overflowing with food. When I eat here for lunch and finish my plate, I don't eat until breakfast the next morning. Just outstanding.

Took my family by tonight while in the area for vacation. Best burger I have had in a long time possibly ever. We all had the Yellowstone Burger and it was fantastic. All of our orders were correct and perfectly cooked. Service was friendly and very helpful. I recommend everyone to give this little gem of a restaurant a try, you will not regret it. By the way, my family and I had a great time playing one of the board games available while we waited on our food.
