Christmas Eve shopping there was a great experience mostly because of the sales people working at the following sops we went to: Eddie Bauer, Famous Footwear, River Street Candy, Tanger Customer Service in the Food Court, and American Eagle. Those are the only stores we shopped and found every salesperson to be very helpful and delightful. Thank you so much!
I WENT TO TANGER WITH MY DAUGHTER, KIM AND MY TWO GRANDSONS HARRISON AND HAYES TO SHOP FOR SCHOOL CLOTHES. THEY WENT TO THE POLO STORE. THEY BOTH FOUND WHAT THEY WANTED IN AN HOUR. THE STORE WAS PROMOTING A 20% OFF TOTAL PURCHASES. WHICH WAS SUPER! THE LADY THAT WAS HELPING US WAS AWESOME! I WISH I WOULD HAVE ASKED HER FOR HER NAME! IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! MY DAUGHTER AND I ARE GOING THIS SATURDAY TO SHOP FOR US!!!
Nice, open air shopping. Some covered awnings to cover some walkways, but beautiful nonetheless. Nearby airport lends to ogling the landing aircraft on some days. Asthma issues though not making it as pleasant to walk by free smokers while shopping, but clearly understand and respect all.
The Tanger Outlet in Charleston is a regular American-style mall with no particular distinction. While this is supposed to be an "outlet mall" with special pricing by factory-to-consumer pricing advantages, it fails at almost every opportunity to give a real advantage. Malls such as this will probably eventually be crushed by higher and higher local option sales taxes and a resulting flight to online sales. The locals here are constantly voting themselves new local option taxes in the false hopes that they can pillage the purses of the tourists instead of their own. The combination of the false "outlet store pricing" along with increasing taxes will continue to erode the power of this potential asset. All that aside, this open-air outdoor mall is comfortable to walk in as long as the weather is pleasant. It is conveniently (if not awkwardly) sandwiched between two intersecting interstate highways in that it is central to the populated areas, but the roadway orientation makes it rather unwieldy as traffic has difficulty circumnavigating the entire location to finally enter it from side streets. Customers that use the mall will find friendly and engaged staff members at most retailers. Staff will usually greet them quickly upon entry and offer assistance. The mall structure and walkways are typical with no real impact. The place is kid-friendly with almost too many pay-rides on miniature toy vehicles or toy animals. The shops are many and varied with a heavy bias toward clothing. To receive discounts in most stores, customers must first obtain a coupon book and fulfill purchasing requirements to gain a significant price advantage. In summary, this mall is a typically average experience in the USA.
A great place to find almost anything you want! Good opportunity to walk and get exercise since it's quite large. Great deals on many things.
This outlet mall is fairly new so everything is still fresh and clean. However, for the Charleston area, better and more locally-relevant shopping can be found downtown. It's just the same old mall retailers you would find anywhere, except now outside. Plenty of free parking is available and convenient to the interstates but nothing special whatsoever.
I believe this is probably the nicest Tanger Outlets I've been to in the entire country, so far! Beautifully designed, decorated, maintained, and actually CLEAN++!!! 🌟🌟🌟
Fantastic selection of stores and excellent, friendly customer service - gasp! Yes, that practice is still alive and well. 😊
Great places to relax all along the way - including beautiful shaded benches along the breezy, very open, central and oft-shaded walkways.
Children have not been forgotten in the rather exhausting - for them - shopping experience. with lots of little outside free or coin- operated rides and play areas - just for them! 😊
More than ample parking and surrounded by excellent hotels - located next to the Airport - the Tanger Outlets Charleston is a definite go-to for anyone!
Checked in a customer service desk for a coupon book. Both ladies we very friendly and we're helpful with my needs. When I returned to log my receipts, I received the same friendly greeting. Having a Tanger Outlet in our "Back Yard" is nice. I noticed a few new stores are heading to Tanger. They don't list the name of the stores that are coming, though. I do enjoy shopping at this Tanger Outlet.
It is really nice to have chargers for electric cars while I shop but when a regular gas vehicle park in these spots and there is no place to charge, it can be stressful. Since there are not that many chargers around Charleston at this point this limits the places electric cars car charge. There needs to be a sign saying it is illegal to park at one of these spots, otherwise people just park there because it is close. It could be the difference in being able to continue on with your travels or being stuck their until someone moves so the electric car can charge. The general population needs to be informed as to how important these charging stations are to be accessible to electric car owners. It's not like we can pull into a gas station and fill up.
My shopping experience at the TOC stores is always great. I always feel like I'm getting such a great deal. My favorite stores are both POLO stores (LOVE!!!!!!! the big and tall store and shop at the regular one for myself) and OFF FIFTH and they always have such great coupon savings potential. There are stores where I will not shop because the merchandise quality is so below par-it's not really from the retail stores (I really like their retail stores though). Keep the coupon books!!! Just get a better food court-now the economy will improve greatly, so do it.
The express outlet is great! I feel as though the overall outlet has gone downhill in the past few years.
It is pleasant on a nice day or evening to walk around while doing some shopping though.

It is always a pleasure to shop at Tanger. The mall is intelligently designed and meticulously maintained. Today I visited the ladies room for the first time and was amazed at how attractive and clean it was. It was filled with extras such as a large rack over the toilet for packages and purses, a fold down stool at one of the sinks for children, and a private room for nursing mothers with a comfortable chair, table and changing station.
This Tanger outlet is the best one I've visited this far! All the shops are well kept and maintained beautifully. The shopping experience is by far the best ! If you ever have a chance to visit this Tanger Outlet stop by the Kay Jewelers store and ask for Josh. He helped my husband and I and we had the best experience ever. We also visited the Michael Kors store, and I had the pleasure of meeting Cynthia, she is amazing! She really helped me find a deal and made my transaction as smooth as possible. I recommend this Tanger Outlet to anyone in the area that's doing some shopping. Visit Tanger Outlets you will not be disappointed!
Always a very personable and friendly person at the Tanger office there. If you can't find something that you want at one store, you can at another. Great prices and don't forget your members coupon book 📚 at their office. Give them your birthday and you will get additional special offers for that day.
