Wonderful location. Friendly and helpful staff, Christian at the front desk went out of his way to help my family including our infant daughter. I'm usually a Hilton customer, found a deal for this Tryp hotel, would definitely stay here again. Thank you.

I have prepaid the room and came to hotel in the morning and was told to come back after 3 hours so the room can be available. They never told use we need pay extra fee for check in before 3:09PM. After three hours, we came back and was told the room is available but we must pay $30 for early check in. This is the first time in my life to hear this. Usually if hotel has rooms available, then guests can check in. This hotel treat customer not as important as money! I have two small kids need to have a rest due to a long trip. The manager told me I can cancel your reservation if I do not want to pay $30. The altitude is not welcome too! Zero star, if I can leave. The time is Nov. 23, 2017.

Great location about three blocks from Penn Station/Madison Square Garden. Rooms are modern and have lots of plugs. Breakfast is not included or would I recommend it. Small hotel in a small space but the location is excellent.

    Good boutique hotel.

The well appointed rooms are large (for NY) with hardwood floors and 'slate' tiled bathroom. Full King sized bed in my room, and decent sized desk, under which is a small refrigerator.

There are 4 elevators, which is great for a hotel this size, so you don't have to wait around long

The bar/restaurant is pretty quite. I never saw more than half a dozen people in it.

Great location in a quiet(er) street. Large family room and really comfortable beds. Everything available to hand. Only gripe was we booked back in June and made special request that room be available for 12 (as we arrived at JFK after overnight flight at 8.am) and didn't want to wait until 3pm as we were, hot, tired, and sweaty with 5 cases after a long trip. We were told we would still have to wait until 3pm despite requesting in advance. The Receptionist was not prepared to budge. Dumped cases and returned at 1pm and asked if rooms might be ready Yes but only if we pay 40$ surcharge as still not 3pm so hunkered to wait in foyer for next 2 hours. Suitcase guy saw our plight and came over to see what he could do to help. Moments later the receptionist gave us the key with no surcharge.Apparently room was ready shortly after first arrival , but their policy is not to let anyone in until 3pm.. Apart from that everything else was great

Good location, close to times Square and Penn subway station. It's also on a street that's very quiet so even though you're close to everything you're not exposed to the noise. I give it 3.5 stars. As with most hotels on this side of Manhattan the walls are way too thin! I'd recommend this property if you don't mind hearing everything your neighbours are doing plus if you plan to spend the day exploring the city, it won't be that much of a bother.
Proximity to a police station is a plus also.

Front desk personnel were rude and unfriendly. We checked in at the normal time 3pm on a Saturday. Was not given even a "hello". Then I was told I was not going to be given the room I pre paid for. I paid for a city room with two queens. I got a first floor room with a king. Will be talking to my rewards center about this.

Additionally, we had to pay a 100 dollar security deposit. Not sure if this is normal and I wasn't told I would get it back.

Don't recommend staying here because staff might change your room type at their convenience and not pay you the difference.

I enjoyed my stay here. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and modern. It was a great location in the city with a subway station nearby and a quick walk to anywhere I wanted to go. There were some problems checking in but they were solved. I woke up one morning to loud construction outside the window but other than that, there was minimal noise. I would certainly stay here again.

Nice clean room on the upper floors to minimize noise from the streets below. They held my room until after 1 AM with weather travel delays-very much appreciated. Will definitely be back.

We went to the restaurant attached to the hotel. We all had their cheeseburger and ordered the pattie medium. But what came our was 4 overcooked burgers. Despite this, the burger tasted pretty good and the fries were well done as well. The service was great and the setting was pretty modern.

The service was great! Very friendly and clean rooms. The bathroom is very modern with a huge shower. Great location. Just a ten minute walk to times square. The bar is interesting and moderately priced. So far so good. Would stay again.

Overall a great hotel. Very spacious rooms with modern/updated shower. Natural products in the bathroom. Towels were soft and the bed was very comfortable. City noise was minimal (we were on the 11th floor). All employees were friendly and helpful. Very centrally located (several parking garages close by, but be prepared to pay a premium due to the proximity of MSG). The only thing I think could be better was cleanliness in the bathroom, but nothing majorly icky, just more attention to detail. I definitely would stay here again.
