Limited lunch menu but the meal was delicious! Nice atmosphere, and our waitress was spot on. I would definitely come back.
The only good part of this visit was the service. Prices are way to high for the portion sizes and the food was mediocre at best. I would not recommend Sundance to anyone. I will not be returning.
I will say that the food was very good; however, I went in as a single woman alone and had to track down the hostess to get seated and had to wait to get service. Very unhappy with the service. The young lady who finally waited on me did an excellent job.
My fiance' and I stopped in for brunch, this was my first time at sundance, I had the steak fajita omelette, deliciousness! My girl had the quesadilla, she said it was the best she has ever had. We will definitely be returning. Everything was great! the service, the food, reasonable prices and overall atmosphere made for a good brunch experience. Keep up the good work!
Perfectly decent grills & sandwiches and efficient friendly service at this downtown Grand Rapids establishment. Nice midwestern ambiance. Also rather frighteningly midwestern:Some of the upholstered patrons engaging in wishful thinking, ordering diet drinks with their heaping platters. It’s too late!
I went there for breakfast. The food was excellent, very nice presentation. Service was great even though it was crowded. The Bloody Mary's and Mimosas looked terrific even though I did not have one. I would highly recommend Sundance grill.
Happy hour pricing Sunday afternoon from 3-6pm. Sat outside. Food was tasty. First time there. Service was a bit slow on this visit. I would go back to try something else. Thought the salad prices were a bit high ($12 range). Strawberry margarita on the rocks was tasty.
I've been here a few times always dined in. Maybe, I should've this time but, I decided to order take out. Well, I didn't receive what I ordered I have not touch pork in over 20 years and I ordered turkey sausage but got pork bacon. It was all over my eggs and my cinnamon roll french toast so of course I had too trash the whole meal. So, I pretty much threw money in the garbage.
Looking forward to a nice meal before our evenings festivities and
shenanigans, we came across Sundance in the mid-afterboon.
Only seating available when we arrived was a high top table, and we preferred a booth. Was told there would be a little wait for a booth. No problem, which it was not. Less than 2 minutes and we were seated. The greeting staffer had even stated that "they" wanted us to have a good experience. That wish of a good experience disappeared, shortly after we were seated. A group of 6 was seated a minute or two after us. One of the wait staff wasted no time in taking their drink orders and food orders. (Appeared to be 3 wait staff to cover 11 tables, in our area) With that we felt totally ignored, so much so that even the family at the next table noticed.
The nice gentleman from that family also noticed us, trying to get the attention of one of staff, that we were trying to wave down. Turned out that person was part of the bus staff, but was going alert someone we were waiting More time passed and the group of 6 had there food being delivered
It was only then one of the wait staff came over to take our drink order. We expressed our wait and that we were seated ahead of the other party of 6. While a quick apology was offered, no other acknowledgement of our inconvenience was given. wow. Food was good, but not worth the lack of good service.
To further our sour our experience was the added charge to our parking cost, incurred from the additional wait time at Sundance for crappy service. :(
Great format and Carl does a great job with the food--fresh, inventive and extremely well prepared without being too fussy. Hits the right mark all around. One of my favorite restaurants in Boston. Watch out-small and hard to book.
1-16-2017 Stopped in for lunch today. Just a moderate crowd, plenty of servers. Promptly satand then waited for 15 minutes, with no server attending our table. (Although tables on either side of us were being waited on). We got up and told the host- who simply said 'Oh Sorry'and looked at us. We turned and left. Won't be going back.
Great place, good food, good prices.
I'm kind of a traditionalist when it comes to food, but even I'm tempted by some of the more unique offerings on this menu! One of these days I will try something new and I have no doubt I'll enjoy it. In the meantime, I am fully impressed to find such a large, tasty breakfast, in downtown GR for such a reasonable price. This has become our go-to place for lunch.
I'm not sure where they get their bacon but it is some of the best I've had.
