Happened upon while traveling through looking for late lunch/early dinner. Great find! The Tuscan Shrimp Sauté ( on the lunch menu $13) was one of the best dishes I have ever had! So many different favors with each bite being slightly different! Hubby's in-house ground steak was delicious also. Too full for dessert right then, so ordered a few to go.anxious to try them out! Should definitely go and enjoy some fantastic food!

I've been here twice, once for brunch and once for lunch, both visits were great.
The interior is eclectic without being kitschy, the atmosphere relaxed and upscale at the same time and the food original but not out there enough to discouraged diners from trying everything on the menu.
Great original drinks and a solid wine list round out the reasons to really venture outside of Asheville proper and discover what this gem has to offer.response / report this review -

I traveled with my wife to Asheville from Shreveport, LA for a late honeymoon. We are very big "foodies" that appreciate the finer dining. The Stoney Knob Cafe did not disappoint. There is something for everyone and the service was on point. I will definitely make it back out next trip up here. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to expand their horizons.

The best all around restaurant I have ever been to. From beginning to end the service was great and the food was wonderful! They were not kidding when they said the mac n' cheese was the best you'll ever have. You can taste and see how fresh and home cooked everything is. My husband and I traveled all the way from Louisiana for vacation and we made an excellent decision to try this hot spot. I definitely recommend their steak and the coconut pie for dessert. I was extremely impressed and I know my husband loved his ribeye! We will be back for sure!!!

Wow, from the moment you enterthe service is superb, the food is completely delicious in appearance and taste. The decor is world casual! Prices are surprisingly low for the quality and portions. Taking everyone here, for sure!

The best brunch I have ever had in the entire of United States as of yet! The decor and ambiance was spellbinding me and they had these unique collections showcased in one of their dining spaces. ( The one with hanging crystals is the best spot and very well lit, make sure you get a seat there!)
The food is excellent!! I went with a friend and both of our orders came out amazingly so yummy! I'm very choosy about food and I like a lot of flavors and I was pleasantly surprised to find it in an American restaurant! Very well made food and service is great and prices are very reasonable! The food is incredible. Every time we go, we get something new, and we're constantly impressed. This chef knows his way around flavors. The atmosphere is eclectic and fun. Each room has a different theme and feel. One of our favorite restaurants in NC!

We absolutely loved it. Attentive and sweet servers and an eclectic bohemian vibe. We went to Sunday brunch The coffee was great, the food came fast and it was amazingly delicious food. Will definitely be visiting again, many times.

Stony Knob is a great casual dining establishment that never disappoints. Quirky decor, great service and consistent quality food. They offer a variety of quisines from small plates to full entrees. Family owned and run.

The Chicago Deep Dish Pizza is the most authentic and I have been to Chicago! Also, their pasta dishes are so good. The wait staff is incredible and you'll love the whole atmosphere!
