I called to get a quote to install a flue. The man that answered was rude! Almost argumentative. Then when he did finally give me a price, it was WAY too high! How are these people still in business? Very unpleasant experience.

My Electric Fireplace unit was functional at the time it was placed in the hands of Professional Fireplace for routine maintenance of light bulb replacement. The changing of light bulbs took a month and seven phone calls. When I went to pick it up I insisted that it be turned on and found it dead! I left if for further service. I made a total of 17 calls over a period of three months. The last suggestion was that both motors are now nonfunctional (worked when I dropped the fireplace off) and parts would have to be ordered from Japan! OR I come and pick up a total non-functional unit for which I have paid over three hundred dollars in recommended parts and installations. I have experienced a total loss of confidence in the Owner and question his ability to have made repairs on this unit without creating more problems. Buyer Beware!

This guy was so rude to me on the phone, we didn't get past the stage of setting up an appointment for an estimate. He wanted $55 dollars to come to my home, twenty minutes away from his business plus an undetermined "service call" fee. I mentioned I was looking for a free estimate, but appreciated his time. He said something to the effect of "free estimates don't exist and they are factored into the job." I have two different roofing companies coming to my home today, FOR FREE, to bid for my dollar in a slumped economy to replace my entire roof. Before he let me go, he said that nothing in this world is free and everything has a cost. Thanks for the life lesson, Professional Fireplace & Chimney Services Inc, but no thanks. Trust the overwhelming bad reviews here. I can't say anything for his work, but his demeanor is terrible. This guy is an egotistical bully. Plus, if your estimate is inflated, your prices are probably the same.

This is the second time I gave this guy a try, because "The Mad Hatter" (chimney sweep) from Knoxville was so booked he was unable to do the work. The Mad Hatter, who actually had to drive an hour to my house and back wanted $30 for gas, BTW. I was happy to oblige, he was just over booked. If you're this guys next customer, don't expect to be right. Ever.

I recently had my chimney cleaned by Professional Fireplace & Chimney Sweeps. The owner tried to talk me into about $2000 worth of fireplace "improvements" that he deemed as absolutely necessary and that he could conveniently provide. Due to the high price he quoted me, I decided to get a second opinion from another chimney sweep in the area. The second chimney sweep informed me that the so-called improvements were not necessary. He also conveyed that the chimney had been poorly cleaned and that many of his customers have had negative experiences with Prof. Fireplace such as the ones I have described above. My advice is to look elsewhere; there are several other chimney sweeps in the area.
