Fun gathering but there is little in the way of maps as far as I could find. Parking was not that bad. Not expensive if you don't want to go on rides otherwise price can increase quickly

Hands down my favorite fair. Plenty to do and lots of events and things to do. Friendly folks with great food.

We have been to the West Virginia State Fair a few times and hope to continue going making it a family tradition. It's a wonderful place for you to take your children, or to hang out with friends and or family. There's so much to do here for all ages, such as: rides for little children and thrill-seekers, a variety of food markets, all different kind of shops and some very unique ones as well, and there are many types of games to play like Bingo to throwing darts at balloons. If you're more of a sight seeker you'll enjoy walking around and seeing the contests and winners. My favorite part was visiting with some of the horses and meet and talk with the owners.
It was all very organized: lots of free parking with help to guide you and plenty of handicap spots.
We will definitely be going back again!

Livestock has always been my favorite. This year the Birthing Center topped it all (dairy cows). I didn't get to see a baby calf born but did get to see how mom and 2hr baby interact. Just stole my heart.
Hope to see this back in 2018!

They did a very nice job setting everything up. There were lots of activities and rides for everyone. I feel like it keeps getting better and better every year. I loved the John Michael Montgomery and Clay Walker concert. I appreciate everything that the people who coordinates it does and all their hard work. I have lots of wonderful memories of this year's fair and past fairs. I enjoy going to this every year.

Unfriendly to smokers! They want you to use the designated smoking area which ard far from the main areas, they are at the edge of the fair grounds, if you can even find them. No shelters from sun or rain. No seats. They try very hard to discourage smokers from attending. Most people smoke wherever they want, the smoking areas are a joke. They need to rethink this.

Its the best state fair to go to because they have everything except the circus.

Perhaps nostalgia colors my opinion but all I see when I go there nowadays, all I notice are extremely high prices, typically rude staff, long lines, old, worn-out entertainment options, and foul-mouthed smokers at every corner. I typically don't go except for a few hours when my kids beg enough. Travel in Fairlea during this time is usually somewhat trying due to Rt 219 not being designed to accommodate the extra traffic

This was the second time we have stayed there. Love it. Over three hundred space, all full service at 25.00 per night. You pull in find the sight you want and call the office to pay. There were only probably 10 camper there. We were by ourselves about a football field from anyone else. Best deal in camping.
