Teachers: Mostly, teachers are okay. Some are cool (Mr. Workman, Mrs. Cottrell, Dr. Watson, Dr. Siekkinen) but some teachers are purely bad. I've heard of some teachers being horrible, but I've only met one teacher that is pure evil. That teacher is Ms. Minshew. Don't say anything to her or she'll try to give you ISS or some other punishment you don't deserve. She RAGES at children for no reason, and kids are afraid of her and hate her. I also met an administrator named Dr. Dugger, but she's not as bad. Another teacher I had was named Mrs. O'Brien. She tried to fail me for something I did well on. (She relented into giving me a 50 instead of a 0, but I still barely passed the year.) Generally, you can expect a teacher to yell at you for no reason. Also, a punishment given by teachers is to clean the lunch tables after lunch.
Kids: Most are decent, like teachers. Some are really cool, but a lot are REALLY rude, racist, or just plainly irritating. I have not personally been bullied, but it is common here along with other things. Fights are also pretty common. The school is generally undisciplined, and teachers can't control kids very well.
Other stuff: Camden kids say we have rats. I haven't personally seen a rat here, but i hear stories. The food here ranges from good to horrible. The nuggets are okay, but I'd rather just take a home lunch.
Verdict: Please consider sending your children elsewhere before this school. It can really be detrimental to their health and mind. This school is not the optimal school for sending your child. Unless you are willing to work for your child's education, and wiling put up with bad teachers, please don't come here.
P.S. The homework in 8th and some of 7th grade is OUTRAGEOUS. You can expect your child to be doing 3-6 hours of homework a night in the 8th grade.response / report this review -

the school does not care if you learn, they just want you to pass and they dont know what fun means at all it is a horrible school send your kids somewhere else. one star thumbs down

Do not send your children here this school cares only for the paychecks and not for the children I've been dealing with these nasty women at the front desk for years and your never right they are always right they back eachother up I'm so disappointed with this school and lack of commitment to the children.

This is the third time I have edited this review and I feel like it's bad that its gotten worse. Let me just say this before I even go on a rant, the teachers and staff are great. They are nice to students and do truly care but, I have to say these students and the logic of this school is ridiculous. To begin with students, they are all so mean like, I only have a handful of friends because everyone else either hate me or bases me off of rumors like I'm for abortion and I am a Satanist (You know who you are, little liar, also even if I was how would you know) anyway, I have been bullied a few times now because of my religious and political beliefs. Its just idiotic and, our schools logic is soooooo bad. Recently we have had an administrator come to the gym and say if people didn't dress out or dress back in they have to get written up but, that was only for the girls (8th grade girls) and they got onto the coach for acting "to friendly" with us. That makes absolutely no sense like, I'm sorry but I really don't like this school and from this point I do not look forward to high school.

Amazing school, lots of clubs and help afterschool. love this middle school. Camden middle has roaches.NOT USSS!!!!

Our children attended this School, and we were very pleased as a military family. It truly cultivated the Military lifestyle and was full of diversity compared to more urban schools in the area. Teachers and staff were very caring, taught, and worked with kids who transferred in with all academic needs! Our children excelled here in their academics and we set very high standards including in their social lives. They identified our children as gifted and either got them in the gifted program or Honors Classes! Saint Mary's is All around a great school for Academics, Athletics, Band and extra curricular activities etc. It's middle school, an age where kids are very impressionable and trying to identify themselves! We actively Parented and was involved in all aspects of communication with our children's teachers and any experiences at this school! So just be the Parent your Child needs at any age and your Child will have a wonderful experience! Our children were extremely active and involved at Saint Mary's middle School. We have now PCs'd and we recommend this school to all Military Families in the various social media groups we are members of when other families say they're relocating to this area! We Still wear all of our Bobcat gear Cheer and school Spirit Wear! ❤️
