Beautiful little gem tucked away in South Bend/U of Notre Dame campus. Four stars due to concerns over algae in the lake itself (although kids were swimming when I visited). You can park for 1 hour as a 'guest visitor' at the facilities building. I've provided a picture of the hours of operation.

A group of friends and I had been exploring the campus and we ended our expedition at the lake. The beach was closed as it was late, but the path around the lake provided some great views.

We ride bicycles to the beach and play water. I love run around the lake.
