Worst school ever. Classrooms are infested with wasps and roaches, not to mention they are literally falling apart. A chair simply fall apart when a student sat down on it. They overcharge for lunches ($3.75 for 5 inch sub sandwich with only ham and cheese) and the teachers LOVE to find any excuse to give out detentions. The students barely have any freedoms, either. School uniforms are strictly enforced (you can get a detention for not wearing a specific shade of white on an UNDERSHIRT) and students cannot bring anything of theirs to the lunchroom. Overall this school is a complete garbage can.

I have taught in Public education for over 12 years. After leaving my post to teach at St. Bede I can tell you that it's a much better environment. I see there's some single stars on this from people who have "heard" of something. Let me tell you that I have not had better students or been able to teach more to my classes than here. Perhaps some actual data will help illustrate. Our regional science and engineering competition called WYSE tests the best students of all the surrounding schools for content understanding of Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Math, English, Engineering, and Computer science. Our team of students as well as many of their individual scores were 1st this past 2017. This was not unusual either, there's a pile of these trophies at the school from many years. Out of thousands of schools with 700 students or less our team consistently placed and ended up ranking 15th in the state this past 2017 with a 4th place individual score in chemistry. Spiritually speaking, in addition to the religion classes, we have some awesome prayer services and speakers come here. All the teachers pray every class and every day with our students. We require that all our students choose and do acts of community service, there's scripture reading once a month during lunch they can go to, adoration before and after school, the list goes on and on. Finally we don't turn people away due to financial need. We have never done so! If there's any question as to that or anything else by all means call us up and talk to Tom Mcgunnical about what we can do to bring you here.

Your children will get a pretty good education at this school, but will not gain anything spiritually, because the school as a whole is very secular and non-religious.

St. Bede Academy is no different from any public school with its secularism and should not be called a Catholic school, for it has very little or no Catholic values. St. Bede Academy is like the fig tree that produces no fruit in the parable told by Jesus in the bible. Almost all of these kids coming out of this school know nothing about their Catholic faith and have not grown in any Catholic virtues, therefore this school should be cut down (closed) like the fig tree which produced no fruit. So if you are a Christian looking to send your children to a good religious and virtuous school where God is acknowledged, this is NOT the school to send them to.
