My experience here was so good when I came out with a friend and so I brought my husband back with me for lunch and was just disappointed. It wasn't terrible by any stretch of the word but certainly not consistent from one visit to the next. The ahi tuna is off the chain tho.
The food here is a bit upscale but not fussy. It was really great for quick bite before going home after a family outing. Their flatbreads and pizzas were a hit with everyone at the table ages 6-33!
I have been a HUGE fan, proponent, and frequent customer of Spice over the last few years. However, the last 3 times I have been in there (within the last 4 weeks or so), the air conditioning has not been operational. I have been told over and over the owner is having it repaired, but obviously this is not happening. I have seen other reviews that say the same thing and the owner responds it is being repaired. Obviously, he is not being truthful because it has been down for weeks. I expect the barrage of other good reviews in the last few weeks have been from friends who are trying to offset the "No A/C" reviews. I am a General Contractor who does renovations and I can tell you I could have that system repaired within a couple of days and it has been AT LEAST 3 or 4 weeks this A/C has been out. I feel sorry for the employees working there. The last straw that made me write this 1-star review was last week when it was 92 degrees outside (with a "feels like" temp of 101). I went in for a late lunch and could not believe the A/C was still outthe doors were open to the patio and it was almost 90 degrees in the restaurant. I was sweating like a pig by the time I got finished with lunch. The bartender and manager apologized profusely and they were very friendly, but you could tell they were embarrassed about it when I brought to their attention it had been out for several weeks and I had no idea how they were operating in those conditions. While I was there, probably 12-15 potential customers walked in and walked right back out because it was stifling hot inside the restaurant. There were 2 other separate parties of 1 guy having food and drinks that were sitting near meit was the first time in for both of them. And both said they loved the restaurant but would not be back until the A/C was repaired. To the owner: if you are planning on staying in business, this A/C needs to be repairedthe working conditions are ridiculous with it being that hot, not to mention your patrons all look like they have been working on a chain gang from sweating so much. I will update my review to a 5 star once the repairs have been donebecause this place is normally great, but with no A/C any restaurant is a 1-star in the middle of a Georgia summer. Difficult to enjoy your food when you expect Satan to walk out of the back at any moment because it is hot as Hades in there. Make sure you call before you go to see if they have A/C yetas you can see from the owner's response, he is still spewing the same response he was almost 6 weeks ago.
NOTE To Owner's Response: If you were that worried about the A/C and customers having a nice environment to dine in, it would not have been out for going on 6 weeks AT LEAST! Your poor employees and customers! This smells like going out of business to me. I DID in fact speak with management when I was there last and let them know I was aware it had been out forever and when I pressed them on the issue, they said they really did not know when it would be fixedthe owner just kept telling them it would be fixed. The gig is up Mr. James Lget it fixed already.
We walked in to the restaurant on a hot Atlanta night expecting to enjoy comfortable air conditioning and good food. However, there were fans in the hallway and the place was easily 99 degrees. They asked us to sit outside where it was cooler, yes at 94 degrees. We asked our waitress about the lack of air and she said it hasn't worked since April. Then she continued to say there is no heat in the building all winter. It appears the owner tells patrons it will be fixed but no idea when, or even if it will be repaired. The summer months are hot, humid, muggy so if you decide to try this place out call and ask ahead of time if they repaired the HVAC. Our food was delicious but we were so sweaty from the lack of air that it ruined the experience.
Great service!! Great food!! Live entertainment included!! Go and chill with friends or fam. It's all good!!
Went for lunch and a Girls day with my bestie! We sat outside on the patio because the weather was amazing. Everything about this place was great - host, wait staff, food, drinks - we enjoyed ourselves immensely! Ordered the braised short ribs, which were tender & succulent. Alain had the asparagus and spinach tapas. Each was delicious. Would absolutely come back and recommend.
5 years ago this was a great place. Tonight I was served a drink in a chipped glass, recieved undercooked food and was told wrong drink prices. Never again.
First restaurant I've ever been to in Georgia in the15yrs of me living here that everything that was ordered was absolute perfection!!! The atmosphere was beautiful, staff was friendly and professional (Kieron) with live music in the background and families enjoying themselves. Definitely coming back again soon😃😃😃😃
They make some of the best pizza I've ever had. Did have to return a dessert I ordered because it was dry and bland. I am fairly certain it was one of those "nobody can be perfect all the time" scenarios because they gave us a desert of our choice on the house, and it was perfect.
Really great decor and ambiance inside. The presentation was fantastic and everything else was great as well. We went during a slow time (around 4pm) on a Thursday and had $3 craft beers. The bar tender Rachel made great suggestions and took great care of us!
The pizza is obviously a must have, can't beat the brick oven taste.
Nice bartender/server. Nobody in the place for lunch, so food came out very quickly. The paella and flatbreads were really good. Warm, dark atmosphere with some smooth jazz playing.. Really comfortable place to hang out
