I met with my insurance agent for coffee/ hot chocolate and pie. Great place for food too! I have been a customer since they opened the original back at Mt Vernon and Oliver in the 50's.
The food is standard, but homestyle. They can accommodate large crowds. The Pies have not been very good over the last couple of years.
I have not been to Spears for some years. It was on the East side at that time. The waitress was attentive and the food came out shortly after ordering. At checkout the person was pleasant and professional. I had pumpkin bread with my meal which was better than pancakes. Nice place for me and my husband to have breakfast.
We stood in line for 10 minutes waiting to be seated. 4 people were behind the counter. When we finally got seated it took 20 minutes to get our order taken. A lady came in after us and was immediately served. I had to ask for the waitress. She had walked by us several times without stopping. I was very irritated. Service is usually good. The food was good.
We contracted with Spears to cater a small event of ours. They were prompt, professional, courteous, helpful, and flexible. My only suggestion would be for them to invest in some more upscale catering equipment/supplies. I would recommend them for catering!
Always love the environment. Very family oriented. Awesome pies!!
Great food, excellent brunch buffet price. Service is poor. My party of 4 never got a refill, even though i made a lot of eye contact, with my waitress, raised my glass, set my cup on the ledge and made every attempt to call her over. 😐
Friendly service for the buffet on Sunday. Unfortunately the food was lackluster. Eggs were barely room temperature, French toast sticks and waffles were cold and tough and the bacon was all in one big clump. I was there at 930 am.
The food is pretty good. The service is okay. The cook might want to pay attention when peeling cheese off of the paper because I watched my coworker almost eat paperbwith her eggs. Other than that it's been okay.
Country cooking and pies! The best chicken fried steak I've had in a long time, warm and soft rolls. I was so full I couldn't try the pie, but our party of nine ordered and re-ordered several slices. Excellent!
The food is the great at home cooking without doing the dishes! The staff are great, they really take care of you.
Good food, good service and great pies
Friendly staff and good food/music.
Nightly Dinner Specials, on weekdays, are an economical way to eat-out. Plus, their FREE Slice of Pie on Thursday us a great value!
The food was good and the pie was great but the service was awful. I will never go back this place. EVER. I sat and watched another waiterm get drinks and we even asked him to get ketchup. Our waitress took 20 minutes before we had to ask for refills on our water. It was not busy at all and no customer should have to ask for their own refills. The pie was obviously old pie but was still good.
