Some of the best food we have ever had. Catfish and corn were stellar According to my boyfriend. Brownies thick and moist. Service quick and friendly. Plenty of tables at 1pm
I enjoyed a generous portion of pulled pork with 5 different vinegar and bbq sauces all delicious! The mac & cheese was creamy and the collard greens were tender and flavorful. It was a very enjoyable meal, but the best part was dessert! Homemade banana pudding with whipped cream and a pig shaped freshly baked pecan sandy cookie was to die for! I would go back just for the pudding, but am excited to try more of their dishes!
What an awesome experience. From the moment we walked in the door we couldn't help but feel like we were having dinner at a friend's house. The staff, Val, Andres, Pam and chef Cedric were nothing short of amazing. The food was simply out of this world. Each part of the dish unto itself was delicious, however the marriage of flavors between the entree and sides, the appetizer and it's sauces was absolutely magical. And the banana pudding!! Mouthfuls of heaven!! This place is a diamond in the rough. Don't miss out on your next trip to Miami.
The only thing that was good was the pulled pork sandwich and fries. Collard greens and mac & cheese no flavor. Paid 3.50 for a sides for sides smaller then a scoop of ice cream. Really ridiculous. Hell if your going to charge 3.50 for corn on the cob might as well give a whole corn not of it. The banana pudding tasted old. I'd only recommend this place only of your going for a sandwich and fries. Other then that don't waste your money. Miami has so many more bbq spots with better flavor and better portions for your buck.
This place has that lovely hipster vibe. Its got a large selection of craft beer and delicious barbeque. The place looks like it can fill up real quick so get there before the dinner rush. The owner was sitting at a table close to us and came over to check on how we were which I thought was really cool. If your craving BBQ head downtown to this joint.
This little BBQ hideaway was a pleasant find in downtown.
The pulled pork and the ribs were both excellently prepared. Neither was dry or under seasoned. The fries are OUT OF THIS WORLD. Seriously, the best fries I've had outside Five Guys. Collards were traditionally flavored with vinegar. Mac n' Cheese was great; the noodles weren't overly soft and the cheese was dense, but light.
If you are a fan of spice, I highly recommend asking for their spicy sauces if they are not offered to you. The spicy vinegar sauce is a personal favorite with subtle layering of flavors. Magma was also excellent. Lava was a little too heat flavor and not enough real flavor for my tastes. The milder sauces were all excellent. I recommend pairing the apple cider vinegar sauce with the collard greens.
Service was prompt, friendly, and very helpful. Both our servers made some small talk and never let our water glasses be empty. Please be aware water costs 35 cents per person--we did not know this until it came time to pay, but was only a minor blemish on an otherwise great experience! Will be back.
Awesome homey feeling barbecue joint. Try the smoked fried chicken! Refreshingly unpretentious atmosphere uncharacteristic for the downtown area. Can get crowded at lunch, but pretty clear for dinner. They cure their own bacon. Need I say more? Go there now. Oh yeah, great prices and great portions - 5 out of 5, don't doubt it!
Went for a bite to eat. And the service was fast(Hospitality unmatched) The host was very polite and readily available. The food was tasty and filling. I had the smoked boneless chicken, mashed(sweet)potatoe, the fries which was amazing and a 🍺. My woman had the collard greens with the ribs and beans. Visiting from New York it was a must we go back there before departing South Miami, and we did.
Good BBQ place in downtown. Friendly staff and good food. Pretty solid beer selection too. Pressed sandwich is great.
Great tasting BBQ! I had a lunch meeting there and was expecting the typical BBQ joint, but I was very much surprised. The pulled pork was "melt in your mouth" deliciousness. Paired with your craft beer of choice and you just can't go wrong. ❤ 🍖 🐖
I love this place. The food is always good and the service is too. Just one thing Sparky, serve fresh cut fries instead of the frozen. Makes a huge difference and complements the already tasty brisket sandwich. Just sayin.
Sweet, laid back spot to get good BBQ. I got the pulled pork sandwich and my dad got the fried catfish sandwich. The pulled pork was juicy and delicious. We also finished the meal with their homemade brownie with whipped cream--so good. The guys working there were friendly and attentive. Plus, they played consistently good music while we were there.
