I just graduated from here, and transferred to WMU after. I loved every minute spent here. The staff was always helpful, my professors would always help me when I asked for help, and the campus is beautiful. I will miss my time here, but I will be much better off for my time here. I previously attended another local college, and had a horrible experience. Transferring here made a huge difference in me, and my education.

My dad was able to go to kvcc out of district for cheaper than I went here in district. However the teachers are really friendly and helpful. The advisors on the other hand weren't so helpful. Nice campus though.

Very good beginner college. I loved my time there. Most of the teachers were so thoughtful and understanding. One thing I didn't like was the financial aid office and the counselorsthat scheduled classes. They almost made me take a couple extra classes I didn't need. Be careful when you go to them!

In 2013 I graduated from the nursing program at SMC. The knowledge base, and emphesis on critical thinking I got from this program really prepared me for NCLEX (I passed after only 75 questions!), and for entering the workforce. I have since gone on to finish my BSN at a four year institution. And, in addition to pursuing my nursing career in the area of critical care, I have now returned to SMC as a part time adjunct instuctor. The Dowagiac campus will always feel like home to me. Register for my nutrition class (HEED 163)!

We like the campus and the location. The store is helpful when looking for books and offer rentals and used books to help with cost. We have a lot of trouble with registering classes. They encourage you to do it yourself, but it's very difficult and we've always needed extra help. Then they kept getting my daughter's major wrong. That caused her to take a whole class she didn't need. We asked for a credit toward our next semester for the un-needed class and were only told "everyone makes mistakes" and that they would not credit us for the class. Each department will discuss their business with you only and you have to call one department, handle business with them, and then call the other department. We're told if we have a problem with our FAFSA app., "just ask the financial dept., they'll help you." They never have helped us. They just show us to the laptops in registration and tell us we are "free to use them" to get our business finished. Just be sure to keep an eye on your major, your classes, your credits, etc. If something's not right, it'll be on you, and you alone.

SMC is a great and affordable school. The instructors are nice and very helpful. The campus is beautiful and easy to find your way around.
