    I have put up with the rude, ignorant, uncaring people at this office for 4 years now as it is such a hassle to change doctor offices. But I have now made the decision that ANYWHERE would be better than putting up with this place. My doctor is just ok but the front office, back office staff and support people have always been the downfall of this place. I have many friends that have already left and others that are ready to leave now. Do not waste your time with Southwest Cares and chose a good office. I hope my post will save you from making the mistake of visiting this office.

    Totally agree with the other post about the front reception staff. Aloof comes to mind if I had to describe their demeanor and social skills. I miss the warm and friendliness that SW Care used to be and would actually look forward to going to the doctor. Now it's like the vast majority of other businesses' customer service staff in New Mexico. They just can't be bothered.

    The support that I have received at Southwest Care Center in Santa Fe has been superior. The office and support staff have always been courteous, friendly, and helpful, without exception. Dr. Michael Chartrand, my primary care physician, receives six stars! He is informed, kind, supportive, available and takes time to listen. Also, at one time, I met with Paula Devitt, RN and her assistant to obtain information regarding nutrition once again I received personal and professional support.

    Three words--'I LOVE them'. They are wonderful. From the staff to the doctors and assistants. This place is heaven for me and wish I had started going to them years ago! My doctor is wonderful and all staff has been terrific. I have not been treated for anything serious and I am in excellent health but I have no qualms about this facility under more dire circumstances.

    Dr. Dunn is legit, calling me during the weekend, with an answer for me.
    One of the male front attendants has no business being in the medical field, or any customer service field whatsoever.
    I have been to SCC over 15 times, since Feb, 16 th, 2016, and YET to be seen by a Dr., since the dude calls to confirm my appts, and when I show up, I am not in the system.
    He has in the past wiped off my chart provided by the Dr, with follow up appointments, as recommended by the NP-Christy, Cherie, and even Dr. Dunn, telling me that the scheduler will call me, which she never did.
    I am so disgusted by this male, especially being that he has administrative power to cancel appointments of folks he feels are NOT WORTHY.
    Having said that, my family and I would rather be seen by professionals who have a clue about the hypocritical oath, and NOT send patients away, now for 6 MONTHS.

    I have taken my boys to Dr. Shandler for years and the customer service has gone downhill quickly since being taken over by SW Care. No one answers the phone and when I leave a message as instructed and promised a return call within 24 hours, NO ONE CALLS ME BACK! So frustrating. Also, last annual exam they were so late (it was 5pm and she wanted to go home) the nurse decided on her own not to give my boys a vision check. Do yourself a favor and go to Drs. Iturbe and Patterson.

    Yea, i give it a 5 star rating; based on my care from the years 2008-2014. I have no idea how SWCC is now, so i am basing this review on those past years. I have only great things to say about them; from the receptionists, to my nurses, to my doctors {i had 3 while i was there}, to my case workers {all but one, was super}, and lastly, to the Pharmacy {all very nice people}
    I must say, though, that living in a much more populated, "bigger" American city now {Atlanta} that, there so many programs here available to HIV positive people, that sadly, small Santa Fe, has really nothing in comparison. Even HOPWA is extensively more funded here; I had an emergency here, when i first arrived, 2 years ago; and my case worker very quickly worked proactively, efficiently, and professionally to obtain my stay in a good hotel for 2 months, all worked out with HOPWA fundingand completed in 60 minutes! I was stunned at the level of professionalism, and accuracy, and more importantly SPEED of the way things are done in this great city.
    It was rather sad seeing how many negative reviews, SWCC has been recieving. For me, SWCC saved my life, and i truly wish all the great staff there, Pharmacy included, one huge HUG! Thankyou SWCC!!

    Appalling customer care. Patients who have recurring Rx needs are neglected if their PC is out-of-town. Patient is not informed, just told to wait for a call, which never comes. Physicians should log these patient needs so that another physician can sign an Rx. "first do no harm"? You have no idea how much harm this does. When they finally had my Rx, they said they couldn't phone me because the phone system was "out". What level of IQ is required to use a cell phone, in this case? Room temperature?

    My doctor is great but the reception and other staff are very rude. It feels like your entering a corporate atmosphere. Before it got so big it would feel like your entering a cozy home with family. At one time the staff were so humble they even knew my name, the staff would greet me with a hug and sometimes offer cookies or juices. I wish I could find another office like it used to be back in the day.
