Southern prepared me well for a career in financial leadership and for graduate school. I would certainly make the same choice if I had to do it again.

I visited Southern Adventist University around September 2016. I loved the location of the campus and a lot of trees and plants. They have a small car rental company the rents cars for the students for two hours. The vehicles are Nissan Leaf's which are electrical cars (Nissan's are good cars) They should get more vehicles like Toyota Prius Plug in. I visited the offices of Student Association very nice people. SAU is good if they have plenty of options for majors relating to the fields of medicine and theology etc. Decent size library, (I believe my libraries of Coral Gables and Miami Beach are much bigger.) Also decent size shopping plaza on the campus. But for accommodations, living life it needs major improvements. There are no elevators in any of the buildings I am very worried for the handicap community. I think its a violation of the The Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990. Some of the steps of stairs in the mens dorm are in disrepair. During our visit we saw a couple of bad hombres in pick up trucks with menacing flags. Campus needs more security/police and more street lights around the dorms, church, etc because the street lighting are around the entrance of the campus. The campus needs signs and maps. To hello pin point the different buildings around. Like thats very important!!! Also they need more fire extinguishers and better signs regarding an tornado evacuation to go to the first floor. It needs more food options around campus. Like I mean the cafeteria is open part time. And the other place which has the small cafe. Not many food options. What happens if I get hungry at night and everything is closed and they don't let you go out of the dorms. (BTW you can leave from a window on the second floor) I could have use a Nature Valley Trail Mix Fruit and nuts snack bar. They should have a small cafeteria on the lobby of each dorm Hall. Why did I give 3 stars??

-1 for few supermarket options they only have (Walmart is bad) and (I love Target) Chattanooga does not have Winn-Dixie, Whole Foods, Costco, Trader Joe's, Publix Sabor, Fresco y Mas, Presidente Supermarket, Sedano's not even a Milam's Market. I heard a few months later they where constructing a Publix Supermarket near by (horrible store design).

-1 No and bad public transportation the Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority is very bad no subway, metro or train system. And belive me I know about transit.

-1 No international food! What is this???? Abuela va estar brava. Like barley hispanic, asian, middle eastern cuisine. Around town. What are you supposed to eat???? Grass!

I feel very bad for the Tennesseans. It's very cold during the night and the infrastructure is crumbling. There roads are full of pot holes. (I am pretty sure who's at fault is Governor Bill Haslam and U.S. Senators Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker. So many years in office and they have done nada. No money is going to fix infrastructure.) What can I say? There is no place like Miami-Dade County.

I transferred in from another Oakwood University and it was one of the best decisions i ever made. I had an opportunity to travel abroad in my first year to Romania (Ahhhhmazing). Then their PE classes are not just the traditional ie: basketball, tennis. They have caving, rock climbing, horsemanship and snowboarding! Ultimately it was the spiritual emphasis on campus that won me over. Oh and lots of photo opportunities.

You find what you are looking for. SAU isn't a holy hill but it also isn't the worst place in the world.

Great campus. Campus is kept looking good. Prices are in line with other private schools. Living in a dorm definitely adds to your social life.

I went to Southern Adventist University for four years. During that time I was also a student missionary overseas in Russia. It was the most incredible and beautiful experience of my life. I was well prepared to have a fulfilling and rewarding life by Southern Adventist University..
