Like staying in a bit of Americana. employees were very friendly. Except one. We were motel guests New Year's Day. Desk said steakhouse open till 930. At 8:58 we walked across 301 and parking lot and as we got to front door, inside an employee quickly ran to front door and turned the bolt, locking us out.

Rooms we're quite large. Furnishings were dated, but clean. Felt like I was in a' '60s movie.set. Many folks walking around taking pictures of the delightfully Photogenic sites.

We've all been by 100 times. Next time STOP. Enjoy the retro motel rooms, and various activities.

I've stopped at South of the Border quite a few times, almost every time I make the drive from Florida to Rhode Island. It's a convenient place to get some gas, and stretch the legs for a bit looking at all the Ridiculousness around. There are bathrooms, convenience store that I usually stuff in the house and souvenirs, and some other things. I haven't visited everything, and there are some that I would like to see like the reptile exhibit, but usually when I'm there it's very late at night. However, it feels safe and it's certainly easy to get to and remember, so I'll be stopping again.

Great attraction and stop for tourists and travelers. There's a ton to do. Plenty of restrooms/changing room in a separate building. The restaurant up front has great food but the staff could be more polished and pleasant to ALL customers. Gas station has neat stuff and very pleasant clerks.

Nothing for the kids, the broken down rides we're all closed. The restaurant selection was very limited and the food options were barely edible. The bathrooms were semi clean, even though they had an attendant was present giving out paper towels with a tip jar standing on the sink. Total waste of a stop. The amount of advertising they have on I95 is incredible, but fall very short of the expectation.

Great experience. Stopped @ Fort Pedro and was assisted by two highly knowledgeable & professional employees. Glenda and Trey was super helpful. They understood exactly what we were looking for, in our first home fireworks display. Despite us not knowing a thing about REAL fireworks, other than sparklers and little smoke bombs, lol. Definitely will continue to come back to this establishment because of great staff.

It is what it is, always fun, astonishing and entertaining. I will say one thing negative and I don't know who it falls on but there were lots of flies in the large dining room. I felt as if I were in a third world country with one hand on the fork and the other swatting flies. I won't be eating there again but it serves a purpose. I'll say another good thing about Pedro's, the bathrooms operate 24x7 and although not modem, they are clean and I'd pay to use them during my long trips.

This is the most unique rest stop i have ever been too. It is a Mexican themed place. There is a lot of Strip clubs and isn't the best place during the night. Though it is awesome during the night with all the lights

My brother, mom, and I decided to hop over for an afternoon and I'm glad we did. We started at the Reptile Lagoon, which is housed where the indoor putt-putt used to be. That putt-putt was so much fun as a kid. The space works really well now as the lagoon, and its residents are really interesting! For $8/person it was definitely worth it. Then we walked over to play a round of putt-putt at one of the two existing outdoor courses. You won't find perfection there, but you can still find a good time. The courses are rather run down, but that didn't stop us. My mom scored a hole-in-one, we saw birds and butterflies and honeybees, and some of our efforts were just funny. Remember to bring cash for putt-putt! Also, you'll probably want to skip the rides, unless you just love inflatable bouncy house type things We ended our trip with a stop at Pedro's Ice Cream Fiesta, where they had a good selection of flavors.

Super convenient place right off of the highway, like a Tiny Town made of sombreros full of colorful statues of random animals. We love Pedro! Went with the whole family and was really taken back by all that they had to offer from giant gift shops to full arcades giant gorillas and a tower in the shape of a sombrero you can go up in to look at the surrounding area. Everything from truck stops to hotels, iguana Lagoon was sadly the one place I did not get a chance to look at but with a name like that how can you go wrong. I would love to go back and I can't wait to have the next opportunity to bring my daughter here, great for the whole family an excellent way to spend time and a little bit of funds.

Not trying to be hard but all the room I slept in looked like a 70's house, but everything else was good. The pool, sauna, gift shop, and attached restaurant was all very good. The gift shop clerk's were nice and the restaurants employees were also nice. I do recommend this place and there is enough things on the property to keep you occupied for hours on end. I made it a three star because I pressed the wrong ratting. I would give it a 4 star

I personally have been to south of the border about 6 times, with the last 2 being last year, and just yesterday. As a kid i would read all the signs on the side of the road. There were a LOT of them! Over the years there are less and less.. I think i saw about 5 yesterday. Same goes for the area itself. It's pretty run down and hasn't changed much. Pedro better revamp that place and give it the glory it had when i was a child, even 30 years later i would still get a kick out of those billboards! But they're pretty much all gone. Even that big yellow sombrero that you could see lit up at night from a mile away was not lit. I was pretty disappointed in it this time passing through

Spent the weekend here. Stayed in the Pedro's Pleasure Dome. Rooms were very clean and roomy. We loved the atmosphere. The reptile lagoon is worth every bit of $8/person. The neon lights at night are amazing. Will be going back soon.

This wasn't a planned stop as we were just passing through However, well worth it there is a lot of shops they seemed to be really friendly and there was a lot to do as well other then shop. I do wish that we had more time there is a lot of areas to take family pics as part of your trip. I wish we would have been there at night time as I'm sure its a whole different atmosphere with fun and excitement. I was told by other people that visited that it was a dirty place, however I thought otherwise. I did notice maintenance people working and they were putting fresh paint around here and there. So it appeared that they were keeping up with the place.

We went today (beginning of June) with zero expectations. Reptile Lagoon is awesome and could stand alone. I highly recommend it for families, or anyone interested in seeing live creatures. It's not a huge area but they had a wide variety of interesting and unique reptiles. Will definitely go again.
After that we went up in the sombrero tower and that was reasonably priced and enjoyable. Then we got ice cream. I did not stay in any of the hotels so I can not rate them, but my family's experience at South of the Border was delightful.

We stopped through on our way to Disney World. The reptile exhibit was awesome! I was pleasantly surprised at how many different species they had and the snakes were cool, too. We also enjoyed the gift shop with all the different hats and to the ride up the hat to the observation deck. Since I haven't been in over 20 years, it was a throwback to my childhood and I was able to share the experience of S.O.B. with my children. Would definitely stop through again!
