The staff in the office are the rudest people I have ever met. There's cockroaches in the school. Short lunch period, with no room. Classes are packed. Nothing's done when students are bad. It's freezing cold all the time. And with the dress code, teachers and staff yell at only some students .

Why does my child has to leave school in June and go back at August 8 ? I think it's unfair because the kids need to rest their brains. If the school is ending on June 5th why would you open school august 8 that just doesn't make any sense. If south walton was closing like on may 20 I would understand why school would reopen on August. I think it's unfair.

Pros: Small and easy to navigate, energetic passionate teachers and staff, clean and well kept.
Con's: Frustrating procedure, lack of resources, Outdated technology, slim diversity in curriculum, scheduling issues, low moral, ect
My biased experience: As a student I find South Walton miserable. Our guidance counselor is spread so thin that her job description of guidance counselor no longer makes sense, she works more like a general worker. I personally thought a guidance counselor was the human resources of high school you know the one person who solely dedicated a majority of their time to aid students. It took me two weeks to speak with her and another week to get my schedule changed. Oh and by the way I have never met a single other student who was content with their schedule. The only thing I would say that was good about South Walton was the teachers that truly care for the students and our education. South Walton is where you compromise more than expected and where live to get by with less. South Walton needs a major overhaul. Maybe these problems are an issue with the school district and South Walton can't help it, yet they don't try either. Don't go into South Walton expecting much you will only be let down.
