Food was delicious, I took my husband here for his birthday and he was amazed that everything is vegan! Our waitress wasn't friendly or helpful but the restaurant itself gets 5 stars. Will definitely be back!
I'm always looking for great vegetarian/vegan food. My family and I were initially a little put off by the guy who took our order, but he became nicer throughout our time there, which was extensive! We ordered at 2 PM and were served at 2:45 PM! I think we finally left around 3:20 PM or so. They served up amazing barbeque tofu and excellent crispy tofu. However, the rest of the meal didn't delight me so much. I guess this vegetarian wasn't ready for vegan mac-n-cheese. I will only return when I have a hankering for some delicious soul tofu! 👍
New favorite vegan restaurant. Super friendly staff. Food is so good. Even my non vegan husband said how good it was. I gave it four stars due to the lack of parking.
This place has great food. Do yourself a favor and don't plan anything around dinner time, because the wait can be long. The service is laid back, so don't be shy. Seat yourself and prepare to enjoy the most delicious vegan food on the planet. I eat here as often as I possibly can. If I'm remotely close, I dine in, by myself or with friends.
I'm just visiting so this was my first and only experience.
As someone else stated: we weren't greeted and it was confusing if we were suppose to just sit down. It took about 20 minutes for us to get a menu and even then no one gave us a "hello." It seemed like it was an off night, the tension between the employees was obvious and it was projected onto the customers.
My macaroni and cheese was burned to the point where it tasted like popcorn but my friend's was cold somehow. They almost forgot about my cornbread. It was definitely an odd night. The potato salad was great and one of the best vegan ones I've ever had!
Food was tasty, service was bland. The server was not attentive at all. This was my first time here, so when I went in, I didn't know if I should wait to be seated or seat myself. The server didn't say hello or anything. I finally just sat myself. Even after that, it took her a while to even give me a menu. It took a long time for me to get my water too. Then, when she brought my food, my side salad had no salad dressing. She said she was going to get the dressing. I was finished with my entrée before she brought me that dressing, and that was only because I had to flag her down for it. So yeah, wasn't at all crazy about the service. But, that BBQ battered cauliflower was good! I also enjoyed the collards. I would give them one more try in hopes that I would get a different server.
UPDATE: I went back to give them another try, and I'm glad I did! I had a different server this time, and he was great! He was kind and attentive; a real friendly face. The service provided can make a world of difference in one's experience at a restaurant. I tried the lentil burger this time. It was really good! :)
Soul food, all vegan. Food was good. Had a home cooked food feel to it. Many thing on the menu made with wheat gluten. Rice were undercooked though.
Ambiance: This business is run by African Hebrew Israelites of Jerusalem, which I had not heard about before going here. There are lots of newspapers articles and material about their religion there as well. Quotes from the bible were on the wall, and religious music playing. The members of this religious sect are all vegan, which is cool.
This was definitely a surprise but a good one! Had some friends in town who are vegan, and we did a Yelp search and found this place was 100% vegan and soul food at that, we were quickly sold. Now the food was amazing, it took a little longer than expected but potato salad was so good, sweet potato was excellent! And the only hot thing on the plate but the macaroni was to die for so made up for it just being warm, all in all if the food could get out faster 5 starts for sure, def worth a visit!
Amazing food at reasonable prices. Great service. This has become one of my favorite restaurants in the area. I will definitely come back for more! Also don't park in the lot next to it , your car will get booted. Lesson learned!
This is the second time I've gone and I have to say I am Very disappointed in what's happened to this place. I will admit the food is good (I had the cauliflower BBQ and mac and cheese), but The service is completely terrible. I literally had to call the place 20 times before they even answered. The guy got my order wrong, and they were out of stuff. It could be that it was just a busy night, but it no excuse. The portion sizes were also way smaller than what they used to be. If they had more people working there, the place will definitely be better.
I was so impressed with this place, it was my first time eating vegan meal, the service was professional, food was great. If you looking for a great place to eat don't look any further this is definitely the place, you will not be disappointed.
Our favorite vegan spot in Atlanta. The staff is great and the food is awesome. I would recommend the mac n cheese. If they have the lasagna, then get that. If you are there on the weekend I also recommend the brunch.
Parking is available. I usually park near the Publix and just walk the block to Soul Veg.
