My husband and I have stayed with Susan and Van Wilson at the Sleeping Bear Bed & Breakfast eight times, 3 of them with our young son. Susan and Van are awesome people. Susan is a chef who provides gourmet breakfasts and leaves treats for guests to sample later in the day. While you eat your breakfast you can enjoy the view of birds visiting very popular feeders, with hummingbirds coming right up to the window, so close you could reach out and touch them! Van is an artist who works tirelessly to improve their already beautiful property. Every time we visit there are new features to enjoy, such as an outdoor eating area, flower, herb, and produce gardens, and campfire circle. The inn itself is located on the corner of M-72 and Gilbert, easy to find, but out in the country for peace and quiet. It's a perfect home base from which to visit Traverse City and the Leelanau Peninsula. On our most recent visit there, the Wilsons accommodated our small extended family for a 5-day vacay! This place rocks.
