Clean and well groomed. Spacious lots, almost all of them seem to be pull thrus. Really an awesome campground! Paved roads, level ground and 3 restroom/laundry stations. Only giving 4 stars because $40 a night seemed a bit high for a state park. But I'm not from here, maybe that's the going rate for a Georgia state park.
I shouldn't give it a five star because then it will be booked full Everytime I want to visit. But it is worth the five. Nice pull thru sites, perfect for my 33 ft, class A. Beautiful Oaks with moss canopy most of the sites. They are remodeling bathrooms so if you need those, it should be in great shape. We biked around the trails and saw the giant historic sloth skeleton. Reasonable close to the City. Highly recommend it.
Cool park too give you a taste of natural Georgia wildlife!
The trail we tried walking was flooded so we didn't end up staying long.
The camp ground looked great.
Large wooded campground with nature trails. Modern bathhouse that are handicap accessible. Helpful personal and small store at park. Savannah close by.
Nice state park. Wooded lots. Deer crossed our path as we drove into the park. We enjoyed the hike through the woods, easy walk or biking. Bathroom/shower area clean and working. One washer/dryer but both worked fine. It rained every night we were there so we enjoyed having cable TV. Staff very helpful and check-in was easy-pick any site you want!
Best campground we have ever pitched our tent in. There is plenty of space between campsites. Sandy raised platforms are available, drain well, and are large enough for your tent, awning, and picnic table. The trees keep everything shaded. The bathrooms and showers are clean and well maintained with plenty of hot water to go around. Nice hiking trails too. And a great location, just minutes from Downtown Savannah. A+++!!!
Spacious camp sites. Not crowded, sites spaced well apart. Many amenities such as water, sewer, cable if desired. Helpful staff. Good place to stay to see the sights in Savannah. A very pleasant stay.
Wonderful family place. The ranger s are very knowledgeable and helpful. Very educational for kids. The Rangers went from camp site to camp site with a their corn snake (Fritter) to inform the children and families about snakes. They also have a junior ranger program. Hiking trails are flat and informative. Beautiful old trees with Spanish moss hanging true to Savannah charm. The only problem we had was that they need another dump station and more trash cans; the property is very large.
We stayed three nights this last week. Nice park. Reasonable rates. LARGE sites. The full hook ups were booked so we got 50amp/water #24. When you reserve you don't reserve one site only spot at that type of site. This worked out well for us. We got a great site. Bath house nearby. Had a fun ride on the trails on the rented bikes. Kids enjoyed playing Pokémon.
Only $5 for a day pass. Affordable rates for bike rentals as well. We enjoyed it so much that we plan on purchasing a year pass. The rangers are very nice and knowledgeable.
Cheap for what you get beautiful area, great rangers, water, hiking trails. There's a nice addition of three walled huts you put your sleeping bags in, so you're up off the ground for those with bug / snake aversions. There are primitive grills, and outhouses as well as hiking trails. For those who are not from this area.. mosquitoes and biting gnats are no joke. Bring bug spray or I assure you, you will not enjoy yourself.
Gorgeous, well-maintained State Park that should not be missed. All trails are beautiful and showcase a variety of well-loved Savannah staples: palms, moss-draped oaks, waterfront and wildlife, all the while enjoyable for novice and expert hiker alike. $5 for day-long parking. Dog friendly! Absolutely love this spot.
We stayed one night at the Campground. Hiked all the trails within 2 days. It is my favorite park so far. Very quiet and the campground is spread out so you don't feel like your bothering anyone, and no one is bothering you! The bath houses are clean and tidy and comfortable to use.
I can't believe the beauty surrounding the park. There is so much to do, but you don't feel rushed to do it all. This is a park where you can relax and enjoy each perk as it comes. We can't wait to come back!
