This beautiful man-made lake has marked trails and great view points. Sadly, there was no kayaking during labor day I assume that everyone was taking a day off, but it would have been awesome to kayak on that day. The trails are hike-able except in the back area near the 1876 war memorial site. I did not explore the the trails that go too far outside the lake, but they seemed pretty good and hike-able as well. The trail does not loop around the lake, and you will have to come back to the road to connect.

A beautiful hidden place. It can be tricky to find the parking lot.
But once you park, there is a beautiful hike you can take.
Peace and quite. Nice place to meet yourself.

Beautiful hiking trails right on the outskirts of the city of White Plains.

I love this trail, it makes you feel like you are off the beaten path and out of the city. Though the trails are not well maintained, and there gets to a point near the end of the lake where the trail splits that the thorny vines have taken over the trail and you can go no further. It would be great if some trail maintenance was done. Otherwise it is beautiful, it is a great place for birding as well, lots of song birds, birds of prey and something which looks like a heron which lives nearby.

Easy hike with a bit of history, the Battle of White Plains. Pretty lake. Some mud and rocky stream crossings, fallen trees. Mostly flat. You can only walk around the lake via the woods for 3/4 of the way. Then you must walk along the road. Not optimal.

Google has entrance point wrong. It's on the northeast side of the lake, just north of where Lake Road and Old Lake Road fork off.

No fishing, although I did see two people fishing.
