A Palm Springs institution, but careful of portion size. My wife and I can usually split one of their sandwich specials. Superb deli food and good service. Be prepared for a bit of a wait 'cause this place is popular!
What a great simple dining experience. We used to live closer and were frequent visitors. If anything Sherman's has gotten better from what we remembered. The portions are delicious and generous. Great comfort food options at any mealtime. Do yourself a favor and save room for some dessert from their bakery. If the weather allows dining on the patio is an excellent experience.
Food was amazing! Plentiful! And the service on Christmas Day A+. If you're in Palm Springs? Be sure to take a meal here.
And desert? Astounding! The Carrot Cake was worth every calory!
Went to Sherman's yesterday. $15 for maybe 1/4 pound of meat and 1 tablespoon of salad is not how I want to spend my money. The pastrami was good, not great, and the corned beef was OK - mine is better. I don't understand all the rave reviews. Service was good but it's not a place we will ever go again. I want value for my money and Sherman's does not give you any value.
The best Deli in the PS area! Also featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives", Sherman's has great hot and cold sandwiches. Highly recommend the Lox, brisket, and latkes. Come here for a high protein meal. They have great servers and great deserts that will last you a year.
Simply delicious. We shared a Corned beef and Pastrami sandwich on rye (#5). The meat was really tender and the bread might have been baked just minutes before, at least it seemed it was; so fresh! Portions are very generous. Potato salad side was tasty. Highly recommend if you enjoy authentic deli food. New York has nothing over Sherman's in Palm Springs.
So glad we happened to stumble on this restaurant. Even though it was busy we got seated right away. The food is amazing, Fresh and plentiful. We were so full but wanted to try the dessert we got the chocolate cream cake to go.
I have eaten at Sherman's for years. This is the first time that I didn't rate it higher. The regular tea had a funky test. We even asked for new glasses to see if that made a difference. Still tasted strange. Had to get little plates from another table to put our pickles on. Seems to be all new servers. Very disappointed. Hope it's better next time.
Great restaurant. We came here because we had just watched the Diners, Drive ins, and Dives episode which featured Sherman's and we were very satisfied! The staff was incredible, Ivy was it waitress and she was great.. offered wonderful recommendations and was extremely attentive! We had the chance to meet the owner who was wonderful. Or overall experience here was fantastic, I'd give it ten stars if I could.
If you are in the desert you must try Sherman's! My family has been going since before I was born! Also make sure to some how leave room for dessert their cake slices are as big as a cake!
The waitress was wonderful. First time there and she answered every question with a smile. The Deli was packed and our order came out so fast. Glad we shared. So much food. Kept our iced teas full and always had a smile. Will be going back. 5 Star in my opinion.
I love this place. Food is consistently good. Sandwiches are packed with meat. Vegetables are fresh. Price is fair. Plenty of outdoor seating and a large indoor dining room for those who'd rather fine in air conditioning. You can't go wrong here. Food and desserts are outstanding.
Portions are great and food is even better. Great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They even cater events and bake their own bread and desserts. Gluten free items too!! Two locations, Palm Springs and Palm Desert.
I love nearly everything about Sherman's. The food is out of this world and I can't recall a time when I was disappointed in my meal. The servers seem like they have all been there for decades which speaks to loyalty and longevity, but therein may lie the one little problem I have. The service can suffer at times. When someone has been serving food at the same restaurant for 20+ years, they may forget sometimes that the menu is huge and guests may need a few extra minutes to look it over. Impatience and attitude don't help speed things up. And while I realize that they want to turn the tables over as quickly as possible, that pressure should not be on the guests just because there is a line out the door and people are baking because it's 103 out. There are plenty of places to eat, so the servers should not put undo pressure on the guests to hurry because there is a wait. That's my only small complaint because it's happened several times. In order to avoid this issue, try to come at the "in between" times, such as 10AM, 2PM, 4PM and 8PM.
