We were a little hesitant with all the poor reviews, but we had a good experience. We were repeat customers of the old Shaw’s so we were willing to give them a try. Our meals were excellent and came out very quickly. They were busy on a Saturday night so we were expecting to wait, but we didn’t. My husband got the pork chop which was big enough to feed at least two people. I got the filet and it was cooked perfectly. My only critique is to the chef—don’t be so sparing with the sauce and mushrooms. I had one mushroom cut into fourths (seriously), and only enough sauce for maybe a quarter of my 8oz filet. As for the remodel, the restaurant was beautiful before and didn’t need changed. Shaw’s has lost its intimate and cozy feeling that we always loved. Too bad. Have to agree with previous reviews, bring back the cinnamon rolls and some white table linens would go a long way to help with the lower end tables and chairs. Overall a wonderful experience but your chef cost you the fifth star.
The atmosphere that we so enjoyed in the past has been ruined. They’ve turned the place into a pub. Manager tending bar and not tending to overall activities. Deplorable service and food! Our waiter was clueless. Prime rib cold and tough and brought out first with salads to follow and sides never came. Never again!!

Good selection on the menu. Food was really good. Very good service, but, a little slow. This should work itself out with time. Everything was prepared to everyone's liking. Ample parking on and off street. Main dining room a little noisier then normal. Will go back again.
What happened?! Beyond the cafeteria-esque remodel (which for some reason didn't include the bathrooms) YOU GOT RID OF THE SWEET ROLLS!?!?! The service was quite terrible as well. Who gives a server with an 11 top table so many tables, including the ones on the patio?! We had 3 orders missed/forgotten because our poor server was not being supported at all. Our family has been been coming down from Columbus for decades and always look forward to it. Sadly I highly doubt we will be making the drive ever again.
I just went to eat lunch at The Shaw yesterday and I was excited as the two times I ate there before the renovations, it was a five star rating.the ramen bowl was out of this world, the mushrooms were a meal on its own and the atmosphere was cozy and charming too.
Well, I was truly disappointed. If something isn't broken, don't fix it. I feel they had a great place and food before so why did they change it. The ambience is now cold to me and looks like all other contemporary restaurants. It has lost its old world charm.
While the service was grade A, the menu has changed and not for the good. Also, the menu was not updated on line and that was disappointing. The ravioli was not as expected with sunflower seeds on itnot a good combo. The Korean bowl was tasteless and broccoli in it seemed to be too crunchy and not steamed enough.
I don't think I'll be coming back. Sorry Shaw, wanted to like you but the saying that change is good. Well, in this case, not so much.
Newly renovated. I went there for the first time for lunch and my ravioli was delicious. The cocktail menu also looked great. Looking forward to coming back. We went next door for a cupcake at the new bakery next door.
I went back to work for these fine folks the place is simply unique WTH even better menu selection but don't forget the bakery WOW.
Great old style inn ambience. One of my very favorites!
They are expensive and the food is good. I have never had a bad meal here and they are often rotating out various dishes depending on the season. If you get the porkchop beware It is enormous. They provide bread but don't eat it if you intend on getting through the main course.
Service wasn't bad at all. Food was a little expensive but I had the barbecue ribs and they were well it. Biggest thing is it took right around an hour to get our food.
I was recently here for a rehearsal dinner with a wedding party. I went up to the brides room and when I went to wash my hands there was gooey soap residue on the sink handles(she had just checked in and I was the first to use the restroom). Then I pulled back the shower curtain and found soap scum in the bath tub so thick that I could see it without touching it. Then looking around the room a little closer I noticed thick dust on the light fixtures and chair rail. I pointed this out to the bride but she did not care because she was getting married the next day! Then the rehearsal dinner. The menu had a decent variety of food and we had our own little room which was nice but the staff did not impress me. When we asked for more bread they carried out a loaf in a napkin and tossed it in the basket with the other half eaten bread not even taking into account that we needed more butter. At the end of the meal the guy waiting on the table I was at asked the only other person at the table with leftover if they needed a to go box and ignored me. I was charged for multiple drinks when everyone else was not. And then as we were getting ready to leave I noticed that as the staff was clearing the tables, they were taking the cloth napkins that did not look used and setting them aside instead of putting them with the other dirty linens. I know that sometime people don't always fold out the napkins but they still will wipe their fingers on them so I found this very concerning. Overall I would not recommend anyone going here! Does not seem very sanitary!
Stayed in a uniquely themed room that included a large Jacuzzi seperate from the restroom. I like the history throughout the building. The stay included a full service complimentary breakfast which was well worth an evening away from the standard chain hotel options.
