Pose for a photo at the beginning, because they have pictures for purchase after. There's a wide range of animals and knowledgable staff. It's a large place with a great atmosphere. Well worth the money.
The shark reef aquarium will take you about 30-45 minutes and is really short. I was actually surprised when I stepped inside how humid it was inside, it was kind of disgusting and uncomfortable. The beginning of the museum is kind of rough seeing some of the animals in such tiny enclosures which was really bothersome. The good news is that it does get a lot better towards the halfway point and end of the exhibit. There's a lot of good educational information on the many different creatures you'll encounter in this exhibit. And the best part The shark aquarium! It was beautiful and I loved being able to view it from just about any angle it is quite a breathtaking experience. I wouldn't say it's worth it for the price they charge at the door, but this would definitely be a fun family experience to consider. I just really wish some of the animals had more space to roam around instead of the tiny spaces they're stuck in. The poor komodo dragon looked uber depressed and in a dead-state when I stopped by. :(
A beautiful aquarium. Crowded but fun. Large enough area for people moving through. We've been to most aquariums around the country and this is on the small size but just perfect for the afternoon. Never saw the sea turtle. Spent time just unwinding and relaxing in the shipwreck. Could've sat there for hours. I felt bad for the octopus living in a lit area. There are snakes in the Amazon area for those with huge fears.
Best aquarium on the strip for sure! Everyone has a good sized enclosure but the huge octopus, very active fishes they feed the piranhas in the morning, safe sanitary petting (poking?) pond, and a good amphibian selection (comodo dragon very big). Real shark fossils only $3 and there is a polar bear arctic enclosure but that is extra, so is parking if you're not renting a room.
Got to see Piranha for the first time in my life here back in 2014. They don't look very dangerous, but boy can they shred things to pieces in seconds!!! The guide said that you can literally swim with them and they won't harm you (as long as you don't have any open wounds or blood seeping into the water). Fascinating stuff! Really good aquarium. Much better than the ones here in New Zealand. Very memorable experience.
I really enjoyed this aquarium. There was a lot to see and when i went it wasn't overly crowded. I would definetly go back if i went to Vegas again. I found it was really educational and informative. The touch pool was also pretty interesting if you want to know what a string ray feels like. The staff there are really friendly end will answer any questions you may have about the animals.
Normally, I am not a fan of things on the strip or in one of the hotel/casino's. But this is seriously cool!! This place is educational and extremely well done. This is the kind of thing you would expect to see at some of the best aquariums in the world. only it is located on the Las Vegas Strip. Very Very cool!!
A nice little aquarium experience for those staying on the strip in Las Vegas. Great if you have kids or need a break from the slots and clubs. Expect 45 minutes to complete the easy walking exhibit. Elevators, restrooms, and baby changing areas are available. Staff are welcoming and pleasant. Research ticket prices before making the trek as some feel it is too pricey for the limited experiences.
$25 a bit pricey (what isn't in Vegas?) But our ticket have us access to polar interactive which made the experience a value. My son enjoyed the touch pool at the shark aquarium and received a certificate from the naturalist. The concept of being underneath a shipwreck was clever. Aquarium exhibits a bit small though. Gift shop was cool. 😎
This is a great place to take your ocean loving child. However, its expensive and small it takes 40 minutes max to see the whole thing and almost not worth price and wait in line. Almost it is beautiful and fun and your kid will definitely enjoy it. That is what makes it worth the price alone.
For having this in Vegas I would say it was pretty good because of the way it was set up. The atmosphere of jungle, temples & shipwreck throughout the all the different tanks made for a not so boring walk. They have a small "touch pool" here as well which really made this great for my grandson. This place can be pricey and get crowded so best during the week and catching deals like the 3 different events for $57 offered at the ticket kiosks there.
I give this 4 star due to size vs price. It's a bit pricey for such a small aquarium. But it was a fun little place to visit if you're looking for something different to do on the strip. Shark tank and tunnel are cool. All and all, it took about 45 minutes to make it all the way through.
We were looking for something to do in the morning and the aquarium worked out perfectly. It took about an hour to go through which is a little short but all the exhibits were excellent. It was close to a food court so we were able to easily get lunch and head out in time for naps. It's a little pricey but I thought it was worth it.
We stayed at Mandalay Bay during our visit to Vegas. We are bug aquarium lovers so were excited to check this out. I would definitely say it is underwhelming. The first few areas almost seem a little sad. There are a couple OK tanks, with some cool fish, but in no way would I call it a "Shark Reef". There really aren't that many sharks. I would say it is not worth the $20. Go spend it at the casinos!
Decent aquariumtoo small however. You can literally walk out within 10 to 15 minutes. Reptiles are dead as usualthey do have some good sharks in there. Paid parking
It was cool for an adult or maybe for a teenager that doesn't like to touch things. I searched for an interactive aquarium for kids, the only place you could touch anything was with the stingrays. And the walk through was really short. For over $120 I thought it would have been more exciting for the kids
As locals, we purchased a membership here. The shark reef is very short compared to many other aquariums I have experienced and failed to meet up to the expectations I had before going. They are fairly lack-luster and the place varies a lot on how poorly it smells. However, they do have a good variety of animal life, including some out of the water reptiles. We won't renew this membership.
The Shark Reef was a quick experience. Thankfully no long lines to enter the aquarium. However, it just wasn't as grand as I was expecting. The sharks were great to see, but I feel as though my local wildlife aquariums have more variety. There wasn't really much to see and didn't last more than 10-15 minutes. Probably wouldn't go again.
