Excellence. Compassion. Experience. These words come to mind when I think of the way Jim Lewis represents his clients. He is one of the most skilled attorneys I have had the pleasure to meet. He is passionate about his clients and their needs, which is one of the reasons he is so successful. But Jim’s clients are not the only ones who recognize him for his excellence, his peers feel the same. He is recognized by his community and his peers as a Super Lawyer, enjoys an AV rating from Martindale Hubbell, and was named as one of “The Best Lawyers in America” in 2010 in the personal injury category. I would send any of my clients to Jim without hesitation. He is just that good.

One of the benefits of being a member of Primerus is the great friends that you make from around the world and the opportunity to network and share cases with them. This is how I have become good friends with Jim Lewis over the past several years. Jim shares my views on the responsibility of attorneys, and how clients’ interests should always come first. He is recognized as one of the premier trial attorneys in the country dealing with medical surgical errors. He has the highest attorney ratings and has been consistently selected to the Best Lawyers and Super Lawyers lists. I have referred clients to him with confidence, because I know he will take good care of them, and treat them as I would. No one plans to be injured through the fault of another whether it is a car wreck, a boating crash or a medical mistake. But when a catastrophe occurs, you and your family cannot find better representation than Jim Lewis with the firm of Shapiro, Lewis, Appleton & Favoloro, P.C. I have personally known Jim for over 20 years having first met him at a one week trial school in Philadelphia. Having spent a week watching Jim, it became very clear to me that he had a unique ability to communicate and a commanding presence in the courtroom. Not only is Jim Lewis a revered trial attorney, he is a law professor as well. If you are looking for a first-rate law firm to help you with a personal injury claim, a medical malpractice claim or a wrongful death claim, I highly recommend Jim Lewis and his law firm.

Hiring an attorney can be extremely daunting, however you can rest assured that Jim Lewis and his firm Shapiro, Lewis, Appleton & Favaloro are the best in their field in both Virginia and North Carolina. They have received the highest recognition by the legal community, but more importantly, they have the case results to back up the praise.
If your case has to go to trial, you want Jim Lewis representing you. His qualifications are outstanding - not only does he have decades of courtroom experience, but his position as an Adjunct Professor at William and Mary teaching trial advocacy shows that he also has the knowledge to fight for your legal rights throughout the duration of your case.
