Attended a wedding here. Beautiful location. Great staff.
Went here for a dinner and food was excellent. Service was above average and premises were very nice. Set back in the woods away from a main road.
My new husband and I had our wedding at Shadow Lake in October of 2017. Every single thing was perfect. We were passed through a couple hands between the beginning and end of our planning, but everyone we worked with was AMAZING. Our guests absolutely RAVED about the food. My new husband said it was the best steak he's ever had, and he wasn't the only person to say that. I had the mango relish salmon and felt the same way. The servers brought my husband and I new drinks throughout the night and a staff member asked us what we wanted to drink/eat when we started taking pictures after the ceremony. The views were gorgeous, the bartenders were friendly, and we couldn't have asked for a better venue in every way possible.
I would give it zero stars if possible, this place is a joke. I have tried to visit 5 times ! Five! And every time they are closed for private events. No one ever answers the phone and they only post an 8x11 piece of paper on their front door. How can you expect people to keep coming back when they have to drove down a long drive way, park, walk across the parking lot only to find out you are closed, again?! Why are you even open to the public? Do NOT waste your time. This place is a joke.
Ten of us had supper there last night and held a brief meeting for our model sailing club. We ate on a large outdoor deck. Very nice surroundings, woods and golf course. The food was well prepared and tasty. I had Sauerbraten - very good. All the others liked their food. The service was excellent.
Pretty dining room with nice views. Restaurant not at all handicapped friendly with accessibility. You cant park anywhere near close to door. There may be a small "hidden" elevator but there are steps up to the bar area and dining room. Service was very friendly, but very slow. This seemed to be an understaffing problem. Food was all quite goodthe seafood chowder very good and we had the pasta rochester with battered fried artichokes, spinach, pine nuts, portabellas, and a tasty interesting add, sherried tomatoes, which for me made the dish. The funnel cake fries with Smores dip for dessert was different, tasty and plenty big to share. We had a groupon which also made it a great deal. Entree prices somewhat expensive, but you can get lower priced items like sandwiches and burgers some of which looked interesting and not same old same old.
We have received great service and enjoyed delicious meal everytime we stopped in. Their staff always seem to be willing to go the extra mile.
Beautiful scenery, seamless banquet catering, clean &well maintained facility. This place has never disappointed.
I had my bridal shower here. There were 3 other showers going on that day however with the way it was laid out, it really wasn't a bother. When I arrived the room was all set up and decorated (thanks to my friends), and the weight staff was on hand.
We headed out to the bar to get a drink before everyone arrived. My drink was free since I was the bride! woo! They didn't have mojitos which stinks, but their mimosas were delicious.
The parking was a little tight, however there is a loop where you can drop things off if needed. For food we had a buffet of cold cuts and salads. They were all very good. OH, and the sangriait was DELICIOUS! Everyone seemed to be pleased with the food.
At the end of the shower the staff even helped us load all of the gifts into the car, which was greatly appreciated.
I definitely recommend having an event here. Its absolutely beautiful!
Shadow Lake offers fantastic service and the course is always in great condition. Perfect value for a quick 9 or 18.
The course itself is decent, but the staff are nothing but unpleasant. First Terry at the pro shop does nothing but complain about how "jammed" the course is all the time. One time he wouldn't let me go out on the course because I didn't know the name on the tee time, only the time. Not to mention this was on a Friday evening only playing 9. Also I had an old gift card that was good at all three courses. Terry told me he would transfer it to their new cards. What he didn't mention was that now I could not use that gift card at Greystone. Lovely, now I have all this credit at a course I don't wish to play at. Then there is a ranger, skinnier guy with glasses that does nothing but follow you around the course no matter how fast or slow you are playing, he is nothing but negative and a PITA. It is sad that Pines closed, because now everyone jams SL and adds to the unpleasantness of it overall. Save your money and sanity, go to Ontario CC, Blue Heron, or even Eagle Vale,.
Nice atmosphere fish fry very good muscles soso. Great seating outside
