Seaport Village is an awesome little place on the harbor with dozens of shops, a good selection of different foods, and even some live music sometimes. The view is great, especially at night when the big Navy ships are parked at Coronado. Weekends can be pretty busy, since it's a big tourist spot, but weekdays are an awesome time to visit.
I wished I can understand the sign better about how much the parking cost. I left my car there to ride with someone for dinner knowing parking needed to be paid for in San Diego city. When I got back and left parking, I was shocked I had to pay $35 just to park about four hours. I thought it would be like $10. Boy I'll never do that again.
This is a cute little area of San Diego that's a must if you're a tourist in the area. It's right by the shore and great for boat watching and sunsets! If you're looking for somewhere to eat you can take a walk and look at the different places. Most of them were a little to upscale for my wife and I but we found a little restaurant on stilts in the water called pier café! Great service great food and brilliant views!
I love just walking around here. Cute pond and fountains, very nice people, beautiful view of the bay and Coronado bridge. The stores here are very unique and most are not chain stores.
The only big downside is the parking. even with a validation from a purchase in one of the stores it's still very overpriced.
I love this place! The shops, the ambience.. the food. The to top it off there was live band playing the weekend we were there. Can't beat the relaxation resulting from the combination of all these. Would go there again in a heart beat!
Great place for tourist and locals alike.
I live in downtown and during walks, my wife and I always walk down there and see all the gorgeous views and the small shops. Always something new and never bored.
Minutes walking distance to some of the greatest restaurants in Downtown Gaslamp
Beautiful place, especially at night. There is always something new to see or try every time you go.
I would suggest taking a date for a craft cupcake and coffee then heading over to the working antique carousel. Or maybe eating at one of the few seaside restaurants.
Weather it be for fun or just to look ate the water, you should always have a good time.
This is my favorite place to go when I am in San Diego. You can take such a nice walk and enjoy beautiful views. There are a lot of activities in the area for anyone. I went there early morning for a walk and hit the open fish market and continued walking enjoying the views. Then in the afternoon I did some shopping and enjoyed the live music that was being played. This is a great place to go.
Very cool shopping places right on the water with beautiful scenery and a few eating spots. This place is very clean with a lot of benches to sit on. There are restrooms available and clean. Parking was no problem. There is also a nice walking area right on the water. Plenty of people walking around too . Definitely had a good time. Even the kids liked it. Would recommend and return. You do have to pay for parking here but if you bring your stub to any store or restaurant to get it validated with a 10 dollar purchase you get a discount. Happy shopping
What a wonderful place to just walk around. This small village located right on the rocks next to the sea is an absolutely adorable place for you to go. There are tons of shops. Everything from hot sauce to tiles, food to kites. Even if you're not looking to spend any money this is a great place to go and just walk around. Has a great view of the bay and you can see tons of huge Ships coming in and out. I've been coming here since I was a young lad. Thanks again Seaport Village for all ways being there!
Officially in love with this place! We were looking for a place to walk, shop and have a hot chocolate and coffee in San Diego in the evening/night and while searching I found this area! Cute shops, a little pricey. Variety of restaurants. Promenade by the harbor. Would love to come again in the sunlight.
This was a quaint area with some nice shops. The parking that was close was really expensive. $5 an hour if you bought something and had your ticket validated and $10 an hour if you didn't. After the first hour we moved the car to another lot that was only $10 for the whole day. It is outrageous to have to spend that kind of money to park so that you can go spend money in their shops.
I absolutely love Seaport Village-- it's one of the first places I go every time I visit San Diego. You can walk, jog, or bike through here and there's always something going on. There's a multitude of shops and restaurants which is fantastic. If you've got a family it's the perfect place to go. I'd also suggest checking out the USS Midway museum while you're there.
Nice outdoor marketplace type feel. Unique shops for sure - a wooden toy store, old school local vibe coffee/book store, etc. Love being able to walk along the bay, large green park area. Don't forget to visit the old Police Department that also has some shops/food across the parking lot.
Lot of food options - higher end restaurants on the bay, 'fast' food style in the village itself and some new ones at the old Police Dept. Don't forget the cupcakes!
Only downside is the paid parking. Watch out if you are there too long it can add up! Get your ticket validated and don't stay longer than 3 hours :)
I LOVE Seaport Village, have been going there for years first as an out of town visitor, then as a local visitor and then I wound up working there for a while and seeing first hand how the place works. There is so much to do not just there but in the surrounding areas that you would be wise to take the trolley perhaps or any public transportation that drops you off there so you don't have to deal with parking costs that can be as expensive as a meal in a good restaurant or you can plan to go later in the day, it used to be that after 6:00 pm on a weekday you could park at any open meter for free, not sure if it's still like that.
Everything inside is done well and with good taste, most of the stores are not your typical chain store, there are only a couple of those, they are darling small boutiques with unique things that you can't find everywhere. Like a store just for kites, others with hammocks, candles, arts and crafts, toys that are still made out of wood and you can get them personalized for your child or for a gift to take back home. A cozy bookstore with a delicious coffee shop and pastries inside, with small table inside and out where you can read some of those books before you decide which one you want to buy. They also sell all kinds of knick knacks, I remember buying lookalike bracelets for myself and my daughter and ladybug earrings. There's a hot sauce store, a hat store, t-shirts and sweatshirts, souvenirs, sun glasses, Christmas decorations, a place where they make fudge, a good variety of small fast food places that have healthy food like fish and salads to name a few, delicious sweets like a new cupcake shop, Ice cream, old fashioned caramel apples and many great restaurants including The Cheesecake Factory on the newer side.
It also has entertainment for the kids like a video arcade, a very antique and wonderfully kept Carousel with many types of animals not just horses like most of them have.
There are mimes clowns, jugglers, face painters, contortionists, story tellers fire & sword eating people performing all over the place, the guy that builds his rock formations, live statues, fortune tellers, you name it. And to make it that much more attractive its right on the water with amazing views and photo opportunities, there's always music playing in the background and the grounds are lovely and well kept.
You could literally spend all day there just waking around and enjoying a cup of coffee and people watch.
I could go on and on about all the things this place has but I'll just end by saying that if you have the time or if you are visiting San Diego you must make an effort to visit Seaport Village. Here are some pictures, enjoy!
