Fantastic trip! Celebrating my 40th birthday with my husband and three kids. Josh, the dive master and his captain were amazing! Entertaining fellows that made us feel safe and anticipated our needs! Thank you for a wonderful first snorkeling experience guys!!!

I spoke to a man who told me to arrive 30 min to departure.. for me to drive 40 min there from Miami.. for them to tell me when I got there the snorkel trip was canceled due to not enough people. And they would not take just 2 people out.. they preferred a full boat so we were unable to snorkel at all.

Well, I'm not YET a student, but Ive done enough research, and review to make the choice to use my VA benefits to enroll. Spoken with Jayne at length over the phone about steps to take with the VA. I'm newly retired military and a retired Firefighter with some public safety dive experience, and I dont spend my hard earned money flippantly. So I began digging, checking out the pros and the cons. Then I began speaking with staff, and actually conversed with an enrolled student while he was on break. In his own words this retired military and working public servant, told me it was a damned good investment. I told him my background, and he actually recommended I take the TIP(total immersion program). He said it helped him review and relearn some forgotten skills. So.that is what I am going to do. In the process of getting VA approval now, and filling out my application package as we speak. Looking forward to going to the school with an "empty glass" mind-set and let these folks teach me what I've been hearing so much raving about.

There's 2 reasons that I'll ever bother leaving a review. Either the service that I received sucked so much that I had to post something or it was nothing but exceptional. In this case, it's the latter. Everyone from the instructors to the divemasters to the boat captains were extremely professional, caring, safe and knowledgeable. I finished my Divemaster today with them (part of the Total Immersion Program that was covered by good ole Unlce Sam). I had just finished my bachelors degree and had still quite a bit of time remaining from my GI bill so I figured what better way to make use of my remaining benefits than adding another tool to my belt and have some fun while doing it. The process was made especially easy because of Marcy and Jayne, who deals more with the admin side of things. I have to give them a lot of credit. As I wasn't their typical student (I have a full time career that only allowed me 3 days off every week and some vacation time), they worked with me every step of the way to accommodate my schedule (something that other, closer dive schools/shops weren't able to do - or at least with the GI Bill). I probably exchanged about 20 emails with them before even attending the school. I must also say that every single instructor I had was extremely knowledgeable and safe. I felt like I could not be in better hands. If I lived quite a bit closer to the shop then I would without a doubt, get certified with them as an instructor myself, however, the drive to SeaExperience really sucks for me (about 2 hrs of traffic one way) and I'll be using the last bit of time I have left from my GI Bill to attend another school that interests me. Plus, this is really a back up to my backup career and not something I really ever plan on pursuing professionally unless it's the absolute worst case scenario so It doesn't make much sense to me to go further than getting my DM Cert. Overall, I must say that I learned a lot about diving (more than I ever thought was involved) and it was an absolute amazing experience. I'm extremely glad I chose SeaXP to break me into the world of diving.
To sum it up:

Safe diving practices

Just dove last Wednesday with Sea
Experiemce. Staff over the phone was very polite and accommodating when I was booking my trip prior to flying to Florida, so was the staff in the store when I was driving to the shop to check in and when I arrived. Dive boat itself is very nice and well kept, I especially liked the weights racked in slots, very easy to decipher and restock. The dives were okay, not a lot to see really but a buddy told me further up North from Jupiter (saw Goliath Groupers 2 days earlier) said diving in those areas may not be as life-abundant as further south. Still, dives were enjoyable as I'll take any dive pretty much (even in a pool LOL). My only (small) issues was with the captain and mates. I noticed a large Gatorade-size cooler in the back of the boat with cold water, no cups. Large white rectangular cooler by the front loaded with ice, water bottles were lukewarm at best, somewhat cold at the end. Not expecting a smorgasbord, but nothing appealing to eat pre or post-dive, just chips and those cheese crackers with peanut butter which neither appealed to me. Suggesting maybe adding some granola bars, bananas or apples, clementines or oranges? Non-expensive items, just add a little variety. I do not recall any detailed discussions of each dive site, at least from my experience most crew explain the dive site verbally (we may see this and that, they draw a schematic of the site on an erasable board, etc) Impression I sort of got was kind of jump in and see you soon. I could be wrong however as mostly everyone on/off boat and anyone I spoke with was talking about hurricane Irma heading to Florida. I may have been distracted and missed the briefing or not paying full attention so I will put that on myself. Typically when you are boarding from a dive, the crew takes your fins (I had a camera also) which he did, but they also help you onboard by grabbing the back of your BC to hold you steady as you climb in. Crew member just stood there and watched; I can make entries on my own, I was just surprised at that. 2nd dive was shallow at 20-25 feet, was in the water a good 45 minutes with again not a lot to see. I recall the captain saying to the effects of "I want to be back by 12". Okay, reasonable and we had plenty of time to look around. Captain and what appeared to be 2-man crew were friendly, but not really much for conversation except toward the end. To put the rating verbally, the overall experience was okay, pretty good.response / report this review -

They captain and mate gave each person time and consideration. They were not over bearing in there respective duties and the trip was pleasant. They stayed out longer because the wanted to and were very courtesy. Not upscale and not luxurious but affordable and met all we wished.

The Sea Experience team are terrific! They do a great job of working with varying levels of comfort in their SCUBA classes and they are very fun while taking everyone's safety seriously. I was the adult chaperone for a large group of teens completing a day of Discover SCUBA, as well as (on different days), younger kids taking introduction to SCUBA Bubblemakers, and a young teen completing his Open Water certification. Some of the larger groups were a bit of a challenge and they did a fantastic job of making sure everyone learned, had fun, stayed safe, and wanted to come back. I remain impressed with their commitment to making everyone comfortable and not pushing anyone beyond their limitations, while encouraging everyone to continue on with confidence, safety, and the necessary skills. They work together so well as a team so every snorkeler and every diver gets to participate to the extent they desire. Their gear is well maintained and organized. Their knowledge of the local sites are terrific. If the weather is not ideal, but still safe, they will do what they can to get the group out, while always putting safety first. Their systems are efficient, from check in to completion so your time is spent having fun and learning. Definitely recommend this outfit for the beginner, the advanced diver, someone considering making SCUBA a career, and everyone in between. Thanks, Sea Experience!

What a disappointment. Went last year and had a super nice captain. This year we went back and the captain could not have been more rude. To call my kids a..holes and talk to them so condescending is just unacceptable. Went in a group of 6 with our family. Spent 40.00 each and they treated the kids as if they were not wanted. Talking about teenagers that were with adults. The first mate Zak was nice enough but the Captain needs to find a new place to throw his anchor. What a jerk and disappointment!! Wish 0 stars was an option. So angry!!

I scuba dived with them for 5 days straight
Great customer service, friendly staff, fair prices, they even have Hawaiian slings on board you can borrow for free! The divemaster, kirk, taught me how to use a spear gun too!
their store is nice and well stocked. They have really cool t shirts!!
The only reason that I didn't give them 5 stars is because they consistently weren't able to hit 32% on my nitrox tank ( this was every day). lots of misses; 31.4, 30.8, 31.8, 29.9, etc. I'm not an expert on mixing gases, I'm not sure if this is normal or not. But if I'm paying for 32% I expect it to be that way. I don't have a computer to input exact nitrox fills so that's why it bothered me.
But it's not a huge huge deal, they're still great!
I dove with Dixie Divers (which is in the same area) and their customer service was much worse!

My hubby & I went on a shallow dive with Josh & Mateo. The guys were great!. I was pretty nervous (not a seasoned dive) and Josh was SOON helpful and supportive! These guys are absolutely awesome!

I've been diving regularly with Sea Experience for the past five years, I took my Advanced Open Water and Divemaster training there and I can tell you as a native South Floridian and lifelong diver around the world that you won't find a safer, cleaner or friendlier operation in town. Bill Cole is one of the founding members of the South Florida dive community and his entire crew is knowledgable and make an afternoon on and under the water a perfect afternoon. My dive group has even booked private charters with them and they've always been more than accommodating.

We've gone on 3 dive trips with this company and have had great experiences. The staff is friendly and professional, they put safety first and are very respectful of the environment. Also, prices are reasonable and every 6th dive trip is free--we're looking forward to coming back! Josh was an awesome dive master and clearly loves his job. He was helpful, knowledgeable and polite. Very positive experiences and definitely recommend to other divers!

We flew down from MA a few days before our cruise so my son could complete his open water. Zach was his instructor and my 16 yo felt completely at ease. The staff in the store were friendly and answered all all our questions. The boat and equipment were all very well kept. The crew was attentive and watchful without being overshadowing and gave accurate dive descriptions. The diving itself was better than what I had expected.
I would definitely use this company again and highly recommend them.response / report this review
