I had a friend in town for a few days and wanted to try someplace new and interesting for lunch. I stumbled upon Schoolhouse when getting directions to another place nearby that we were considering. We got to the restaurant about 1:00 and there was a tour bus in the parking lot. There was a group of senior citizens there for lunch. Fortunately the group was just finishing up lunch and we got a table after a short wait. The place had kind of a funky smell-we weren't sure if it was the old building or perhaps one of the guests was not so 'fresh'. It took a while for us to be waited on, but we dismissed that as being the result of the large group they were processing. Wait time for the food was longer than we would have expected, and the quality was 'OK'-certainly nothing to brag about. We probably won't go again unless someone is enamored with the quaint setting or the charm of the old building.

Enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and the service. This wonderful gem is from another time, when things were more relaxed. Will definitely be returning.

Great atmosphere. Great food. Great service. The price is worth it based on the amount of food given.

Service is excellent here, by far the best dining experience I have ever had. However, aside from the green beans everything else is terrible. It's like seasoning hasnt been invented yet! The corn tasteless, the fried Chicken Tasteless Seriously just tasted greasy. Mashed potatoes Terrible. Even the fried corn fritters were terrible. Don't do it Just don't unless your prepared to get arthritis from shaking salt and pepper everywhere.

This place gets a 4 star from me mainly due to the nostalgia. Let's be honest. The restaurant is cramped, loud, and dated, but they have remained popular and open so long for a reason. They offer simple, home cooked, classic menu items at an affordable price. Is the food amazing? No. But it is still a great place to visit.

We had been wanting to eat here for a while and we finally got the chance to go. We went at lunch and sat at a table. It took a little bit for a waitress to bring us a couple menus. She seemed to be the only one working when we got there. Prices are a little expensive but food is good. I don't know that we'll be back, not because of the food, but because of the hours. It just doesn't work with our schedule.

For history buffs, the schoolhouse is really neat! It looks like they kept the original windows and I love that. It looks very authentic!

No pretense here. This is a happy place that would have made my Iowa grandparents feel at home. Totally authentic country style comfort food, and done well. The pork chops I had tasted like corn fed, which IMO, is the best.

This place is amazing. Homestyle meals that are so delicious and filling you will need to be rolled out of the door. The food is rich and never bland. The fried chicken is where you want to be on the menu. Some of the best in Cincinnati.

Really cool historic building. The food is great and the staff is very friendly. I think my meal could have fed three people.

What a blast from the past. Such a cool atmosphere and experience. The food itself was pretty good, but the overall experience was great. Definitely a good break from OTR and other popular spots. If you've never been, you need to go. If you have been, you need to go backsoon.
