Bowen Ranch Camp at Deep Creek Hot Springs is the ultimate off-grid experience. The drive in is just enough time to knock the city dust off and trail in to the relaxation of country living. The sign in is simple and hand drawn map is a special touch! The roads are well maintained and the site are clean, plenty of space for a large group and distanced far enough from the other campers. Dogs are welcome, should you need to use a restraint, make sure it is not in ground because the ground is soft and unless it's two feet deep, will come right out. Thunderstorms and rain was a plus on our trip. Bring 🐫 packs for walking to the hot springs and pack light because it's a true goat trail. Have fun and he safe.

Went out to Lytle Creek 3N06 for an overnighter. Lots of people camping, we were able to find a spot. Close to home. Very rocky, but beautiful and cool nights. Had a great time. Please pick up your trash, Tread lightly.!!

This is such a beautiful part of the country. Time and time again, I come back to experience this National Forest. From Deep Creek Hot Springs to just standing in the middle of the forest listening to frogs and birds - watching squirrels and lizards. This part of creation quiets the soul 💕

Love this place but it sure has gone down hill over the last 3-4 years. So much trash everywhere, way too many people, the wild fires that have destroyed everything. Even the offroad trails and the once secret fishing spots are trashed and destroyed. Not to mention all the trash left over after every snowfall. Stay away during holidays, traffic and beyond horrible. So unfortunate but like I said, I love it up here. Other than that it's a nice place, the smaller communities are definitely nicer and less crowded than the bigger name towns. Lots of restaurants, night life, family fun, obviously the lakes and snow resorts, all that is a plus. Bbuuutttt still 2 stars just because this place isn't what it used to be.

We walked through the beautiful Big Bear forest and lake path. I have never seen more gorgeous rain in my life. Rain drops speckled the path then soon my clothes were rather wet and my heart was racing and I was part of nature. I remember looking at the water drip off the planks of the little wooden bridge into the churning brook below. It was truly incredible.
