  BRIDES BEWARE
  
  I wanted to use Shine Salon for hair and make up for myself and my wedding party. I specifically discussed airbrushed foundation prior to signing the contract. Then at my trial they let me know they don’t offer that service at their salon. My stylist assured me that since she had some of her own equipment she would most likely be able to bring it in and provide airbrushing for everyone. In addition to not having airbrushed make up available, they also didn’t have black mascara or a choice of different lip colors. I was asked to provide most of my own make up including eye liner, mascara and lipstick.
  
  Two days before my wedding, when I reached out to confirm all appointments and services they told me they would not be offering airbrushing for me that day. Well why would I spend over a $1000 for everyone’s hair and makeup when every other salon in town can provide that service for the same cost. The owner was beyond rude to me on the phone and her and her staff told me contradictory things. So she refused to refund my deposit, even though her salon couldn’t provide the services they had promised.
  
  Luckily Adam Broderick salon was able to accommodate my group short notice. I’ve used them in the past for other services and am looking forward to a much better experience there.

  The service was good, the people friendly, and I always trust the Aveda affiliation when looking for a new salon. But don't trust the prices listed on their website. When I went in for all over color (listed at $65 with New Talent), I knew that I have long hair and it tends to take a lot of color, sometimes they charge a little extra. I wasn't expecting it to be double the price, plus what my receipt lists as "color service," which apparently had to do with my roots being darker than my ends. Once you factor tip into the new total, I walked out having spent $200 on a dye job that nowhere else I've ever gone has surpassed $120 total.
  Suffice to say, despite the finished product and friendly service, I won't be going back.
