A great little camping spot. Well maintained and inexpensive except for the shower that is $2.50 for 5 min. which is insane. Firewood is $7 a bundle and the most expensive I've ever come across. And the caretaker's wife is a little on the grumpy side cruising around in her golf cart making more noise than anybody else but still a fun place.
@Alexandria Labelle I've found this to be totally different from your experience. Like you, I think this is a great campground. Perfectly situated, clean, safe, and lots of amenities (hot showers!). The pond itself is a treasure. Unlike you, I've found this campground to be far too easy on rule breakers. Signs are posted for 10PM quiet time. In all the years coming to RPC, I've never seen it enforced. Drunken, loud idiots playing music and screaming until late in the night and the hosts never intervene. Idiots aside, it's still my favorite campground in the Whites. Just wish the idiots would stay home :)
We went to film some episodes and had a great time. One of our members used to go to this campground every year when she was a kid. Its still amazing after all this time. Dan and Dianne are amazing hosts!
Many local people would disagree with this perfect rating, myself included. The place is very nice, (extra star) however it is over priced and ruled with an iron fist. Everything costs extra. Do not go there with your friends to have fun at the fire after 8pm. No laughing or any kind of normal after dark behavior. Go to bed or suffer the consequences. Don't take my word for it, ask a real local. This campground has the most intolerant man we ever met in a campground and I have camped in New York and New Jersey a few times. Oh and Utah too.
This is my personal favorite of all campgrounds in the white mountains. I camp here numerous times every year. The sites are private and wooded. They offer tent and rv sites. They also have flushing toilets and coin showers available. The best part is the pond. It's clean, quiet and regularly stocked with fish. No motors of any kind allowed also helps keep it this way. I recommend it to everyone I know and to everyone I don't.
We camp here nearly every year and always have a great time!
Great campground
Used to come here with my dad & family when I was a kid. Still as beautiful as I remember it from 40+ years ago.
Primitive campground with clean simple bathrooms and a great pond. Bring quarters for showers. Be prepared to dry out wet wood.
Russell Pond is a beautiful place for a family to enjoy. The pond is always so clean and warm and the ropeswing is always a popular spot. The campground is very safe and clean and there are some trails to hike around the pond. Definitely would recommend it.
