Best prices on the lake for rentals. We rented a pontoon boat for the week and they had great rates for a quality boat. Partway through the week we asked about switching to their Ski Natique wakesurf boat and they made it happen. They offer a military discount and late in the season all their stuff inside is sold at a steep discount which is great. I also have to specifically call out one of their employees Justin - the guy was great, did everything he could to make sure we had an awesome time, even lent me his own personal life jacket so we could go wakeboarding. Anything he could do to make sure we had fun on the lake, he did it - you don't find awesome people like that very often so he deserves every ounce of appreciation I can muster.
When checking out / in the boats, I was given a full functional explanation of all the electronics and equipment, and they made sure the boat was full of gas. On the down side, this is the only marina I've ever rented from where we didn't do a full condition check of the boat. I elected to check the prop and skeg and exterior to make sure nothing was broken before I rented, but I could have returned the boat with half the prop missing and i'm not sure they would have noticed. Case in point - a previous renter of the Ski Natique had run into something and ripped the bimini off, but somehow got it past them on check-in. It also doesn't look like they do a cleaning of the boat before returning so you'll find trash under the seats. On the plus side, that meant that we found skis and ski ropes and a few noodles on one of the boats that we got to use without paying for them.
If you're willing to throw away a little trash and clean up the boat a bit when you get it, and you know what to look for before leaving the dock so you are positive you're not taking a damaged boat, then this is definitely the place to go. Everyone was exceptionally friendly, their selection was great, and their prices can't be beat. It was a no brainer for us.response / report this review -

I have been there dozens of times and always had great service . Since its a boat and marina place they are very busy in the summer and if you get there at peak hours you might have to wait a few minutes extra .

Worst service period. I had to help them troubleshoot. Why should I have to pay to help you figure out what's wrong? I'd call to check on my boat and get the same response. We haven't figured out what's wrong. 5 weeks of this! AVOID this place.

Russell marina at river north is the worst business I've ever encountered. Everything is way over priced. Any work done will take longer then necessary and they probably won't let you know when it's done. After calling them they told me my seadoo has been ready for weeks. When I got there to pick it up it was still not ready. The staff is uninterested in being helpful. Hands down the worst business I have ever dealt with. AVOID RUSSELL MARINE RIVER NORTH!

Disappointed- picked up boat Tuesday afternoon at 1230. The boat was dirty from the last rental, pre chewed sunflower seeds still on the boat. The floor was black from dirt and mud did not pressure wash the boat. Once I got home. Found that the NAV lights did not work either. Brought the boat back and it took forever to fix the lights.
