A hidden gem in Boerum Hill! I would have never been able to find this place without Yelp but I'm glad I did. The restaurant is small but when you walk in you feel like your in a old Italian wine cellar, almost underground in a way. It made the dining experience all the better. The menu is short and simple, we ordered the lumache pasta and flank steak. There is nothing worse then over cooked pasta but not here! The pasta was cooked perfectly and each piece of pasta was coated in the delicious sauce, I could eat a shoe coated in the sauce. The flank steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare, my girlfriend refuses to eat bloody meat and she enjoyed this steak. The meat was done perfectly without leaking too much blood. It was a delicious and hearty dinner. We will definitely be coming back for more!
Definitely need a reservation. Excellent food.
Nice service. It’s actually great for breakfast too - much quieter. It’s a nice place to start your day. Night can feel crowded and loud but it’s lovely. I had chicken and it was delicious.
Arrive early to ensure you get a seat at this delicious spot. The cocktails are all winners, the food is fantastic, but it all comes down to the olive oil chocolate pudding. I don't even like chocolate! But this is transcendent. Highly, highly recommend.
I wish I could give this place 4.5 stars, but oh well - erring on the side of "incredibly high expectations were not met". On any given night the wait could be hours, depending on when you arrive. They don't take reservations, which I personally find frustrating. So when we finally got a table, expectations were through the roof! Service was excellent (waiter was a Jon Hamm look-alike). Food was excellent, too. I guess the thing is: when you wait 2 hours for a table, you expect to have your mind blown, and well - it just wasn't.
Went there last night before a concert at the Barclay's Center. We arrived at 4:30 which gave us enough time to investigate the wonderful menu! Dinner began at 5:30. If you're looking for AUTHENTIC northern Italian cuisine, look no further! The trout melts in your mouth! That appetizers are right out of Italy! This place is rustic, cozy, and the staff is friendly and attentive. Order a bottle of wine and enjoy! My Sicilian wife and will definitely be back!
Met an old friend here for dinner on a Monday night. We showed up just in time (7pm), because by 7:20 the place was packed. Wonderful, veggie and fresh pasta forward menu. The lamb ragu was fantastic and I would strongly recommend this place to anyone (unless they like lots of personal space).
Loved that this place was open early for brunch! Beautiful spot in the neighborhood . The sandwich I had was fantastic - delicious bread and very fresh, simple authentic ingredients. The coffee was good as well. Would definitely recommend and return to try the rest of their menu!
Good, fresh ingredients. Bomb bread. Don't bother with dessert. Good wine. Weird vibe.. waitstaff made us felt like we were intruding.
Fantastic, carefully selected menu and friendly, generous staff. Felt like I was back in Italy!
Great neighborhood spot. Limited menu but everything delicious. Had the chicken - great salty, crispy skin - cooked perfectly. Cold refreshing squash blossom app. Creamy polenta pesto side. Top notch.
Very good. Some dishes really shined. But, so very loud.
Delicious food in a romantic yet lively atmosphere.
The homemade ice cream is incredible!
Cozy little Italian place with tasty cocktails and reasonable, yet amazing Italian fare.
FANTASTIC FOOD AS ALWAYS. COZY & SLIGHTLY CROWDED YET COMFORTABLE. COCKTAILS ARE SECOND TO NONE. AND BRUNCH -- TO DIE FOR !
Good atmosphere and really popular. Friendly service when they eventually got round to taking our orders. Starters were great but the standard slipped after that especially for the prices paid.
