The best late night eatery in town. The place is distinctly Roy; you'll find him here, making great dishes and checking in with guests. And the bartenders are universally outstanding. Try the Manhattan or the Boulevardier! Been here dozens of times over the last decade and I've never been disappointed.

Ordered dinner at 815pm at930 tracked down our server to ask how much longer. It finally arrived at 940. Crazy long wait for average food. Would not recommend this place.

After a fabulous Merry-achi concert at the historical Granada Theater, we went looking for restaurant Roy off State Street and Carrillo for a late night dinner. It did not disappoint! A small intimate setting with art everywhere. We were surprised starting with the fresh baked bread. The service was first rate and then it got better. We ordered the crab cakes to start which were one if the best I have had - delicious!! The Filet Mignon meatballs seasoned to perfection over a light marinara sauce and fresh pasta-what can I say. The drinks were just the right size and full of punch (if you know what I mean). It was obvious that the owner/chef is fabulous and takes great pride in his food and presentation. A definite return- they are open till midnight.

Roy is a Santa Barbara culinary and cultural jewel. Roy restaurant is as near an embodiment of an actual person as I've ever seen; in other words Roy has soul.
Great food items created and crafted from the mind of Roy Gandy are laid out on handwritten menus and feature local organic produce and seafood. Roy also serves food late so it's a great place to get excellent food when most other kitchens have cooled. The decor features rotating collections of artwork from local artists and beyond. There are also relics from local landmarks gone-by like the large neon Jolly Tiger backlighting the bar. They also often have live music on weekend; Call ahead for schedule.

We have been going to Roy for many years - and have never had a bad meal. When friends are in town this is where we go. Farm fresh food, revolving art work on the walls and a cool ambience. Only place open late. How could you not love this place.
