8/26/17. Food was average. Walleye was good piece of fish, however, bland. Would not order again. Service was "okay", I would expect better. Bread tasted old/stale. Had to wait long time for coffee too for such a small

Awful experience. Worst I have ever experienced. Service rude from the moment I stepped in the door. Definitely not worth the drive there. There are so many lovely places to dine in Northern Michigan and this is NOT one of them.

Dinner was a delicious delight. The bulgur wheat dinner rolls were so surprising, warm & tasty with butter molded into cute bunny and lamb shapes. The dressing on the mixed green salad was either a warm sweet & sour bacon or a herb vinaigrette that was fragrant & tasty. Our table ordered sauerkraut & apple slaw and tomato & crab bisque which did not disappoint. Our entrees were a crimini mushroom fettuccine alfredo asiago, filet mignon and veal scaloppine. Each of us raved about our choices which were well-prepared to order and a generous portion. The wines we chose were well priced by the glass. Excellent attentive service and a wine steward who provided interesting facts about the wines. We'll come back.

We come here several times a year. The food is always amazing. Last night was no exception. To complement the food, Laurel does some great wine pairings. The wine cellar is amazing. She'll even do a half (or even quarter) glass. Last night we had a pairing with the appetizer and main course. She brought smaller glasses because she knew my wife and I were going to share the dinners. So cool. Last night I had the veal scallopini with raspberry sauce and my wife the whitefish. Both were perfect. The lamb and duck are usually my go to dishes. The sauces change regularly and creatively. Not much room left for dessert but we managed to split a hummer and a lemon lavender crème brulee. Very slight lavender after taste. Wish we lived closer. Laurel is the sweetest. I like going to places that appreciate you being there. We head there from downstate on our way to Harbor Springs. A few minutes out of the way but worth it every time.

An old French Inn in an off the way town. No view but the food is fantastic and the wine list is outstanding! We go back numerous times year after year. Make reservations.

At least during the off season, if not year round, the Rowe features a great brunch deal: $25/person for a three course meal.
My wife and I went and, after drinks and desert, got out of there for $90.
The food was outstanding, the service was attentive with out pestering, and the presentation superb. While I'm usually one to dive into my plate, I held off for a moment to appreciate how the food was served- cool!
Worth a stop, but you might want to skip the latte's the week before to save up for it.response / report this review
