It's a nice little trail, we walked the main areas and it came out to about 2 miles. Has some nice viewing areas along the way.

Great for exercise on the dune stairs. Quiet off the road path with woods leading to sandy overlook of Lake Michigan with beautiful beach access. There is also a boardwalk on the level sandy area with views of the dunes. Picnic tables make for a nice lunch stop spot. You will need to have an Ottawa County Park pass or purchase a day pass from the unattended kiosk.

Gorgeous boardwalk. There are a couple sets of stairs coming in and out but well worth it. A nice easy little hike.

If you like walking through the woods, and like Lake Michigan, Rosy Mound might be for you.
It is a strenuous route to the Lake, and can take a while if you aren't used to it. But once you get past the half mile of steps, you will be rewarded with a beautiful beach.response / report this review -

I love this place!.beautiful hike in the woods up to several flights of stairs, then your own private view of Lake Michigan. My wife and I go at least twice a year and we live Howell. So picturesque

Very nice trails. There are a lot of stairs, but the trail is well maintained and the climb is worth the views. As others have said, make sure to buy the parking pass. We were only there for an hour and came out to find a ticket on our car.

Fantastic area. Well worth the short drive. Small warninglots of stairs but well worth the effort. You need to pay for parking in the summer, however you can park at the school and simply walk across the road. Enjoy!

Beautiful day in February! The parking lot was completely full when we arrived mid-afternoon on Saturday, but the trails weren't too crowded. The ice and sand mounds on the beach were a sight to see!

Great place to take in the view. Amazing walk with A LOT of stairs, or if you really want a work, run 'em. Your legs will be burning. $7 parking fee for Memorial Day through Labor Day. Free in the off season and not as busy. Still plenty of great weather in the spring or fall to take a hike and enjoy the view. Bring your camera for some great photos.

Awesome place. Quick 15-20 min boardwalk trail to the beach and some good dune views. There are quite a few steps, so take that into consideration.

Absolutely beautiful place to take a walk though to a small secluded beach area that barely has people on it, you can even see the grand haven pier off in the distance!

Note: Make sure you have an "Ottawa County Park Pass/Permit" if you plan to visit the park. Passes cost $7/day or $25/annual for out of county residents. The park is basically a 0.7 mile hike through beautiful woods to the beach, but the beach is nothing spectacular and was fairly crowded. We didn't know the park pass was required and received a citation. I called in to the Ottawa County Treasurer and was told it's fairly common for folks to receive a citation. The park could do a better job forewarning people about the park permit requirement. In Indiana, parks that require a permit have a booth at the entrance. Please be aware of the park permit/pass requirement.
