By far, the most disappointing haircut I've ever had. Spent the money I had been saving for a year, and came away feeling less confident with my hair than I had walking in (after a year without cut or trim or anything else). She didn't listen to what I wanted or look very closely at the pictures I showed, and I wasn't given a chance to say whether I liked it or not before she took the bib off.

UPDATE: So I booked my appointment with Madison but forgot to give them my updated phone number. So when I arrived after driving three hours from KC, they asked if I received the message that due to bad weather Madison could not make it to work. But again, this salon does everything RIGHT! I was assured that they could accommodate me with another stylist THAT DAY (with a small 30 min wait) or if I wanted to rebook for another day or wait and rebook with Madison. Not once did I feel like they were scrambling or off their game in the least. They were calm and positive which made me feel very comfortable in the hands of another stylist. This time I saw Kelly and she did a great job not only with my cut and color, but she made me feel like I had been going to her for years. I can not say enough good things about this place. So down to earth and pleasant!!!
AVEDA as it should be. This is a welcome treat at the Lake. I have been a client of and worked in Aveda salons over the years. Roots in Osage Beach is the template of taking the Aveda concept and offering it to clients without the "stuck up" attitude you see in other Aveda salons. The salon is clean, eclectic rustic décor, with a very down to earth welcoming spirit. You are welcomed as soon as you walk in the door, offered a beverage, and in my experience, never have to wait for your stylist (which speaks to the time management expected and delivered from management to stylist to client). I absolutely love the staff and my stylist is not aggressive or pushy with products. She simply tells me what she is using and educates me on the usage. This allows me to really concentrate on what I need for home, rather than guarding my pocketbook for the pressure sales that other Aveda Salons shove down your throat. My stylist asks me before she does any "additional" treatments AND TELLS ME THE COST before doing them. NO SURPRISES when I go to pay!!!!! My usual hair stylist couldn't cut my hair today at another salon. So I decided to give Roots a try after hearing positive things about the stylists at Roots. I called in to make an appointment and they got me in within 20minutes. I also noticed the cool environment they provide with how they have furnished and decorated the salon. My hair stylist was VERY friendly and professional. I would say one of my BEST haircuts I've ever got. I am without a doubt returning to Roots! Great job girls!
