A beautiful place to hike. The first half mile or so is very open to the sun and on an asphalt access road. After that though it enters the canyon proper and becomes shale and rock as it climbs up into the trees. After about 2 miles you hit the stream. It is a really beautiful hike. Some steeper parts but fairly easy for the most part. I'd recommend it to anyone. I took my 3 year old daughter here and she made it up past the start of the river all by herself.

Great hike and awesome views when you get nearer the campground. It's almost %100 uphill from the trailhead to the campground, but never gets steep at all. It's about an eight mile round trip. Took my wife and I about six hours but we were taking our time.

It's amazing to have a place so beautiful so close to home. I live 5 minutes from 500+ rock climbing routes. This place is a refuge from the stuffiness of the college town.

I've been to Rock Canyon on various occasions for differing reasons, all fun. I hiked up here late at night once with a friend to find people enjoying campfires and a good time. My personal favorite use of this trail is to go running, though it isn't easy. It offers a run strictly uphill until you turn around, at which it's all downhill. Needless to say, it takes far less time getting back then it does going up. Very beautiful and you can practically here the stream the entire time.

I love climbing here, hiking here, and even camping here! Rock canyon has beautiful cliffs and mountains as well as little caves every here and there. There is no set places to camp along the trail, but I enjoy bringing a hammock and setting it up just about anywhere. This is my favorite outdoor hangout spot in the Provo Area.

This is a great hiking area! The first two miles follow the river with a loose gravel path that is somewhat annoying to hike on, but it gets better around by the squaw peak turnoff. There's nice bridges to cross the river and great shelter from the sun in the mornings and the evenings.

Probably the best hike in Utah county. Because of that it's probably the most crowded trail as well. To avoid the crowds start before 9am (It's cooler then anyways as an added bonus.) Dogs are allowed as well!
