Enjoyed our stay at the River Mountain Lodge. Great location, walking distance to all the restaurants/shops on Main St. with easy access walking paths and very close (3-4 blocks) to the Breckenridge gondola that takes you up to the main lifts. Room was great! Very clean, cute decorations, and had a microwave, mini fridge, iron, fan, etc. Rooms are owned individually so can't speak for other ones but we loved staying in 108W!! Hot tub was great after a long day of skiing - 2 outdoor, 1 indoor. For the price, we would definitely recommend.
Love coming here with my family! We always get great service. Great location!
Rooms were nice enough, and everything was clean enough. Really easy to walk around the whole town if you're able bodied. Staff was friendly. Price was a bit high but I think that's just the location
River Mountain Lodge was a very clean, beautiful facility. Within walking distance to downtown and the hot tub was a bonus.
The location is great. Walking distance to downtown. The room is very ckran and attractive, but there was no fan or any other air. So the room felt stuffy as it was too cold to open a window. Staff was friendly but could have been more helpful. No directions were given to the room. The barkeep was sociable but had no idea how to fix either a Margarita or a long Island ice tea.
We actually weren't there very long because we were at Octoberfest. Location wise this place is perfect if you want to go skiing or to really anything in breck, as it's located next to the main Street and within easy walking distance of the gondola for skiing. We stayed on the third floor which has a very unique layout. The room was actually two floors, the first is a small living area and its own little kitchenette. Up stairs there is a master bedroom, a smaller room with two queen beds and a bunk bed in the space between the rooms. There's two balconies, one on the main floor, and one off the master bed room, and three bathrooms.
Have stayed twice during the week at the end of the summer and love the convenient walking path access to the rest of Breckenridge as well as a short walk to the gondola that goes up to ski resort for mountain fun.
The adjoining rooms we've had give a nice view of the pool and when the elevator is working it is a quick ride down to the underground parking or a short walk to the many exits to the walking trail or streets. We only had trouble with the elevator on our second visit and it was repaired within a couple days.
The River Mountain Lodge had the best deals on rooms in the area. The room was pretty small, and while I may have misread my booking, I thought I was getting 2 beds but wound up with one. We only needed a warm place to rest our heads before exploring for the weekend, so it wasn't a big deal. The hotel lobby does have free movie rentals, so that was cool. The staff was friendly and explained where to go and what to do. Maybe I should give it 5 stars instead.
I do have to say this place was horrible. Let's start from the beginning: The key card did not work for the door to the room so I had to go back to the front desk. That's ok, but when you've been traveling all day and just want to rest, it sucks. That was just the beginning. The dresser drawers were falling apart, the carpet was old and dirty, no AC/heater. I did find a portable one in the closet that I had to put next to me and my daughter. We put the ripped blanket on the floor to sleep because the floor was more comfortable than the beds. The bathroom was dirty with mold in the corner. I wasted my hard earn money staying at this place. It's not a lodge, it's a 1 star motel. The sad part is that it carries the WYNDHAM name.
First off: if you do not book directly with the hotel, then you have to go to a different location to check in & pick up keys. Not sure why, but I had my car, so it wasn't a big issue. Can't imagine what an inconvience it would be if you arrived without a car & had to walk. The underground parking is great. Somewhat small, so best to park you car & leave it there throughout your stay or chance losing your spot. The hotel staff was mostly rude & flat affect. Not sure what the issue is, but not helpful whatsoever. Seemed annoyed when I asked where the ice machine was & for simple directions. The elevator was broken, which based on prior reviews, isn't something new. But I was just one floor up & didn't have much luggage with me. The room I stayed in was very clean, but dated. And you can hear every door open from the other hotel rooms & even some conversations through the wall! I'd stay again if only for a few nights, but not for a long term vacation. The location is nice though, right by all the main shops & eateries.
Great location, reasonable rates, but room is very warm. One block from the main village with lots of restaurants and things to see, two blocks from the gondola to peak 7 and 8. Free WiFi, many rooms have private laundry facilities. We have the heat off and in March it is still mid-70's to 80's in room. To sleep we had to prop a window open and open patio door or it was too stuffy.
Start with the people working here are awesome. Couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. There's a bus stop 10 feet from the door that takes you to the gondola and there's a trail that ends directly across the street. My 2 biggest complaints are the elevator was down so far for the first half of our stay and we're on the 3rd floor, highly annoying. My second complaint is not with the property itself but with the property manager we booked through. We were booked through ski village resorts by the Breckenridge reservation system. What we weren't told is that by doing so you have to pick up and drop off your keys at a different location. Also we requested 2 beds since it was my son and I traveling together but somehow ski village resorts completely ignored that. So I would recommend staying here but book directly with the hotel itself, Do NOT BOOK through ski village resorts. Only 4 stars because the elevator was broken.
