The service was not great, it took over an hour to get our food and the food was bad.
The clams were gritty and there was almost all shells with no inside

Great place to chill with friends and family right next to the river. Boat taxi makes a stop here which makes it easy to get from downtown Tampa. Food, drinks and service are pretty good.

Been going here since I was a little girl. By boat & drivingit’s an awesome place! I’ve had 1 problem with a rude server after all the years I’ve been going & the manager was very accommodating to our concerns! Took my bf for his bday, he had never been & he loved it! Oysters are awesome! & it’s cool how u can watch them open all the oysters at the oyster bar!!! if you’ve never been ricks on the river is a must try!!!

I have been meeting friends for dinner for weeks. We always drink alcohol too. Our Monday night event will now be relocated to another venue. After Dinner and drinks we requested our bill(s). My friend had eaten a meal but only drank water WITH HER DINNER. After dinner we had drinks and coffee. Our bill reflected a .25 cents charge for a glass of water. When we questioned what we expected was an oversight or typo. It's was abruptly brought to our attention "management made the rules".REALLY!!??!!.
    MANAGEMENT PLEASE CONSIDER THIS
how wise was that business decision? You just lost weekly customers that always bring folks outside for the music.OVER A GLASS OF FREAKING WATER.

I asked for well done wings and they were not cooked well done. I had a caesar salad and the lettuce was wilted and looked old. First time visitor and the service was slow.

First time here wasn't THAT bad. Food is 2 stars at best. Service on our first visit was okay. Tonight was HORRIBLE! We were there for an hour and a half. The waitress came by to check on us twice. That is until we were finally fed up with being ignored and asked for a check, then she was there every two minutes. Never going back. The only reason we started coming in the first place was for the fresh oysters and tonight they looked like someone blew their nose into a dozen oyster shells. GARBAGE.

Location location location, other than that, sub par food and lack luster service. We'll be back because it's accessible by boat, a nice destination for us and to try other menu items but if it was just a place we stopped to eat we wouldn't come back. We sat outside with the "service needed" sign up on our table for 15min with no service and decided to just move inside to the bar. I had "Ricks famous fish sandwich" (grilled). I wish I took a picture of it, it looked like a piece of boiled fish, zero grill marks and zero seasoning. It was literally the blandest thing I've ever eaten. My wife got the fried clam basket and it was good however there was only like 8 clams in it and mostly fries. Like I said, lackluster but we'll be back to try it again. Hopefully next time will be better.

Very open area to enjoy the sunset. Live music on Thursday's @ 6pm, band even had senior citizen groupies, how amazing!! They were out of oysters so I couldn't give them 5 stars, but the mussels and the bread were amazing! They were spicy, covered in red pepper flakes but not too spicy we're you wouldn't be able to enjoy your meal. Local docks, beautiful homes on the Hillsborough river!

Nice beach bar atmosphere. Shorts, sandals and undershirts + drinking before noon appears to be the norm. While there is some indoor seating, I get the feeling most people hang out around the ample outside seating areas. Lots of fans blowing to keep you cooler on a hot day. Service is friendly. A family of four could get out of here for $40. I thought the chicken wings with BBQ sauce were particularly delicious. The blackened fish sandwich was alright. Wasn't very blackened. Looked more brown, but it was still good. After eating, you can take a quick walk down to the docks and look at all the fancy homes across the river.

An absolute favorite of mine in the area. Love the atmosphere. Drink selection is good and the food is good as well. Staff is very nice and helpful. The atmosphere is the best, both inside and out.

First time here, won't be the last. I had the Rickafella oysters and they were amazing. If you order them, get a side of their garlic bread, this combo is better than using the crackers. Very cool, laid back vibe.

Love this place for happy hour, quick bite on the river. One of my top two places for oysters in town. Try the "Rickefeller" oysters, Rockefeller style. Amazing. Usually good size.

Great place to stop for food when you're boating on the river! Food is excellent, definitely try the grouper fingers. They have live entertainment outside on the weekends as well as ample outdoor seating.

I would give this place zero stars if the system allowed me too. What a dump! Run don't walk away from this place. I should have listened to all of the reviews that I've read. We ordered potato skins as an appetizer, they are frozen and microwaved. My girlfriend ordered the chicken philly sandwich which was dry and rubbery and served with fries that were cold and brown and looked they were cooked in one month old oil. I ordered the fish finger dinner, which wasn't any better. The fish was also dry and rubbery and the coleslaw was absolutely disgusting, warm and tasted like dish water. I really feel bad for our server, as today was her first day of working the floor. I gave her a piece of professional advice and suggest that she seek a job at a different restaurant. This is the epitome of a dive bar. I can assure you I will NEVER be back.
