Food and service we're excellent. We made reservations for Thanksgiving and were seated right at our reserved time. The place was so crowded that we had to park off site. No problem. ROTR provided a shuttle. They were very organized.

Nice venuefood quality is trending downward though. Correctionfantastic view. Ok seafoodsalty and not as high end as it used to be.

I would go for a steak before I try the seafood. Service as great nonetheless.

WORST DINING OUT EXPERIENCE EVER

My family went to long established iconic Ray's On The River last night for their Thanksgiving buffet that was not cheap. Finally seated one hour after our reservation and by the time we got to the buffet area they were completely out of most of the main courses and were very unapologetic about having no plans to restock anything including the raw bar, carving bar and desert bar. There was plenty of green bean casserole. First time I've ever called the manager over and told him I had no plans to pay the full amount, that my "cash bar was out and I had no plans to replenish." Our waitress who was very sweet and having a difficult night with many parties, recommended "if you think this is bad, don't come back for the Mother's Day buffet." In all seriousness, Golden Corral would have been 10 times better, all around. To top it off when we ordered coffee at the end of the meal we were told they were out. When we got our bill, the manager had taken $10.00 per person off of the tab. We still had fun with each other, but the food, service and experience was terrible. Buyer beware. Never again I would award zero stars if I could.

We had a family brunch the day after my sister's wedding on a Sunday afternoon here at Ray's on The River. We sat in the tent room which is connected with covered stairs near the back end of restaurant. The view is beautiful with the setting along the Chattahoochee River. The brunch is very extensive and has a huge variety of food you can pick from. I would say the desserts for the brunch were a big let down considering how good the other food was. Another thing I noticed was the servers we had weren't that qualified it seemed considering the standard of this restaurant. All in all, I would definitely go back again and try the normal menu. However didn't give 5 stars due to desserts and lack of customer service I felt was given.

Literally one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. To start off arriving to the restaurant my friends and I were there to celebrate a birthday. I brought balloons and was informed I couldn't bring them in the restaurant which was totally alright with me because I know that some places don't allow balloons. It wasn't a big deal. Continuing on with dinner we were sat and had an amazing view, but to our surprise our party of twelve was sat in the middle of the restaurant. Now with having larger crowds come with louder conversations so it felt as if we had unwanted attention drawn to our table . We were told that we weren't really suppose to sit there but the restaurant made an accommodations just for our party however we never requested to even be place there. We had one more pardon than expected and asked was it possible if we could add on a chair to the end of the table and to our surprise we were told we couldn't. We found a way to where they could be seated comfortably and everyone places their order. Once the orders were placed the general manager and the owner made 2 of our guests leave the table and sent them to the bar. I ordered the parmesan scallop risotto which arrived overcooked and mushy. So I spent $38 for mushy risotto and $10 for watered down sangria. To top it all off the owner and his guest were wrapping up their meal and were passing our table to leave and one of his guest proceeded to give one our pardons a compliment that ended with an insult. We had mostly females and two males at the table and the owner's guest called one of our male guest a woman because his hair wasn't a typical male hairstyle and instead of apologizing for the confusion he proceeded to say he should look more like a man. So not only were our guest sent away to the bar after placing their orders, one of our pardons was disrespected, and we paid for food that didn't live up to expectations. I usually don't write reviews but I felt it was best to at least get this off my chest . My server was amazing and on point with everything. I honestly can say I would not ever go back to Ray's on the River.

Romantic, quiet and the ambiance was stellar. I visited Ray's on a Saturday afternoon weather was beautiful. We were seated at a window where you could view the hooch river. Sun shinning bright so the shade blockage on the windows was fine. Appetizer and meal was fabulous. Service was 👌wine list was lovely as well. Bathrooms clean enough for my selfies complaints. Always good to walk a bit after you chow down so a stroll chatting by the river was relaxing. Its more so an area behind the restaurant still worth taking it in.

The positives: the place is beautiful, the staff is friendly, there's self-parking and complimentary valet. The food presentation is fantastic and there is live music.

The negatives: the food is extremely overpriced for what you get. I've gotten way better steaks at low-level chain restaurants. Mine had zero sear, as if they had put some sauce with water on it first which resulted in a boil rather than a sear. This coming after the waiter said the steak would come "perfectly seared to lock in the juices" (an aside: searing does not lock in juices, that's a myth). The shrimp and grits, while delicious, came with very little grits, to the point that there was more shrimp than grits.

Absolutely fabulous! I surprised my wife with an anniversary dinner here. First time for us both. First time I've ever had a medium well steak. Delicious! My wife had the salmon. Delicious. I hate margaritas, but I ordered one just to do something different. DELICIOUS! The band plays a good variety of music and are great entertainment. They allowed me to come on stage and say a few words about our 8 year anniversary. The service? GREAT! The accommodated EVERY request that I made. At the end of the evening, we were presented with two complimentary glasses of champagne and dessert. Needless to say, delicious! We had a great experience and will DEFINITELY be returning.

I've been to Ray's twice now, with a large group at Christmas, and with just my wife to celebrate an anniversary. Our Christmas meal was great, but I want to write about our anniversary visit.

We received exceptional service from the staff at Ray's - hostesses, managers, and waiters alike. I dropped by the restaurant ahead of our anniversary dinner with a present for my wife. They were incredibly obliging in holding the gift, and - on their own accord - making a special presentation of it during our dinner, accompanied by champagne. How thoughtful!

They provided us an excellent table: an incredible view of the river at sunset, decorated for an anniversary, secluded enough to feel private, but still in the mix of the crowd.

Their support with the gift, their thoughtfulness in seating us, combined with the attention and thoughtfulness of our waiter during our meal, made for an incredibly special evening.

A word about the food: fantastic. Their goat cheese fritters are incredible, and the Manhattan they poured was the best I've had in a while. Save room for dessert.

This was the first time that I had gone to Ray's on the River and I'm really kicking myself because I initially came here for the steak, but I opted for the fish instead. The fish was good, but not exactly what I was looking for. I'll be sure to come back and try the steak. The martini's were delicious.

The atmosphere is nice, especially their choice of music. When the shades lift in the evening at sundown the view of the river is gorgeous. The food, while pricey, is delicious and the service was friendly, prompt, and accommodating. You must have a reservation and I would make one a couple days in advance.

This is a great place to come for brunch. It is definitely a must go if you mind splurging. It is the most expensive brunch buffet I've experienced thus far. The food is delicious, service impeccable, and the view of the Chattahoochee breathtaking! I highly suggest going early, when they first open. We did and we're seated by the window. Mr. T was our server and he was very professional and friendly. He was awesome! I had a little bit of everything and everything was very good. They had everything from shrimp, crab claws, and roast beef to chicken and waffles. I loved the Honey Smoked Salmon, Grits, and Chicken Pot Pie. The biscuits with sausage gravy was really good too. I also loved the Chocolate Cake! I will definitely be back!

My wife and I have dined at Rays on the River a couple times a year for the last 7 years. Each and every experience has been just wonderful. The food is fantastic! The views are dreamy and the service provided by the staff is world class. One of our very favorite Atlanta area restaurants. Highly recommend.
