We had a good experience with the interview process, adoption and even surgical clinic! The reason why I gave 4 stars is because our little girl came home after surgery with ticks in her ears, fox tails wedged in between multiple toes wedged deep in her skin, nails so long they were starting to curl and dried poop stuck between toes that were very hard and crusted. The experience was great here, just wish they take time to give a quick groom before surgery and ensure animals don't have ticks in their skin. Other then that I recommend this place, my sweet girl under weight had a rough life at only 1yr old, hasn't left my hip & perfect lap dog THANK YOU ROMONA HUMANE SOCIETY ON GIVING ME MY FOREVER BEST FRIEND
It's where I've been taking my kid since she was a pup almost 6 years ago. They have a friendly staff and plenty of great pets that are ready for a new home. I definitely recommend that you visit and find a new furry friend to add to your family.
Such friendly and helpful staff. They really go above and beyond to help all the fur babies find homes. We have adopted twice with them and it's been a great experience both times!
Love the place clean, but my dog Smokey got sick coming home from 10 days he had to spend after they reported that he had bit some one my pitbull Smokey never leaves my side I also have two male chiwawas white
NO-KILL! Very nice, helpful people. We adopted a Havanese male. He's naturally well behaved & very loving. He loves playing & cuddling & being with people. He loves everyone. We love our Darby!!!
I had an amazing experience dealing with The Ramona HS. They have so much compassion and love for the animals, as well as the people that come in looking for their lost ones! They're wonderful And they do not get as much credit as they deserve! They truly have he biggest hearts in the world!! They were also very on top of things when something came up!
Clean. Staff is nice. They have no money,so it is a HIGH KILL SHELTER!!! Very sad. Not enough fosters or pullers to help out. They get a lot of dogs, so they think they can make 97$ per adoption for dogs and cats. No specials for seniors. No specials at all!
Great place with very nice caring Staff. If my opinion matters then They deffinatly go about the Shelter in what I feel is the right and definatly are as Humane as anyone could possibly run an organization like that. ! Great stuff
Horrible service. Rude employees that make you feel guilty if you turn in a dog, give you an attitude, & cut you off when you try to offer constructive criticism. They need an entirely new staff & management that actually enjoys their job & speaks & behaves professionally towards their paying customers. Please adopt all of the animals from the Ramona animal shelter so they don't have to be handled by these unpleasant employees any longer.
This place is great. They are in need of volunteers and donations. It's sad to see so many dogs especially pitbulls. Great services.
I've adopted two dogs from this shelter and they both had kennel cough. The staff acts like this is common and to be expected, stating that their own vaccinations are what causes the dogs to get sick (Bortadella Vac). After you adopt a dog, they don't put up a sign asking viewers not to touch, so lots of people come by and pet your dog through the cage, etc, further exposing the animal to who knows what. Finally, they don't allow a dog who's been adopted to be taken out of the kennel for exercise by the future owner so if it takes a week to get the dog spayed or neutered (required) the dog has to stay in the kennel the entire time.
The kennels are pretty dirty too, so I doubt they clean them up between dogs Although I hope they do.
Complaining about these issues doesn't really seem to make a difference either, as the staff seems to not really care. I won't be back to this shelter I gave them two chances and both experiences we disappointing.
